The next big project for us Miggy inventors

As we all know in the Miggy world, we aren't short of inventive people; in fact, the collective awesomeness and brain power at this site's disposal contributes to global warming!

There are also some very clever people out there in the Beeb, Atari, Spectrum and other retro communities that have created things that maybe should never have been, but now that they are here, they are totally teh r0xx0rz and the mutt's nuts. I mean, who would have dreamed of USB on a ZX Spectrum, for example, or fitting every C64 game ever made onto an MMC card?

Yes, it's one of those "Merlin's Musings" moments......

My question to you all is this; following on from such clearly off the scale, full-on awesome projects as Dennis Van Weeren's Minimig, Zetr0's A608 collective project and Retr0bright, what would you wish for as the next 'impossible is nothing' project that we might undertake?

This is a blank sheet of paper thread; you can wish for whatever you want, as long as it's applicable to the retro computing community. I just want to see how creative you all can be and who knows, maybe one or two people may pick up the gauntlet and try and make your wish come true!!

An internal flicker fixer/scandoubler for a 1200 that as well as passing through AGA modes on a modern monitor can also do some 24bit high resolution modes too through the same connector. Effectively giving an RTG graphics card without having a zorro or PCI busboard.

An affordable all-in-one expansion for the A1200? Something that contains everything you'd ever want at an affordable price - RAM, accellerator (if the parts are still available - if not, a passthrough for a normal accellerator), ethernet, possibly USB (are there any drivers, etc?), SCSI or IDE interface, CF/SD/some other memory card, RTC.

Would be nice ;)

A minimig-esque motherboard that fits in the A600 or A1200 case, providing at least an '030, scandoubling/RTG and a SATA port for the hard disk :-)

if you could build a small interface that would access the trapdoor slot, you could then adapt existing Z2 graphics.

one would have to design an accellerator / adapter that you could plug some z2 based gfx card,

one could build a simple connector similar to the BPPC, perhaps something that could use laptop graphic cards.

I am working on an internal board with hardware developers for the A1000. This "board" will have memory (either in SD card or Eprom) for 3 or more Kickstart images. -why? Because he also wants to run "Music Studio" that can only be run on KS 1.1.
- expansion RAM (I think we are looking at at least 2 Megs)
-CF card slot or SD for IDE Hard drive.
-2 IDE slots
-battery back clock

This expansion board will bring the A1000 a bit more "Up to Date"
the cost will be under $50 USD.

I would like a Phoenixish board for the 4000/3000 that updates buster in an FPGA to natively support PCI on the busboard, upgrades Agnus/Alice and Denise/Lisa so they can support higher resolutions with more CHIP, and maybe an SDR FSB?

An A500 motorola 68000 implementation fully compatible on pci/express, with pc floppy support (sharable) , I mean 98% compatibility.

A pci/express A4000 fully compatible, the fastest processor on it, with pc cdrom support, pc floppy support, and OS4 ported to X86, no use running it on ppc.:Doh: As much bridged as possible, usb etc.

Or one card for the two above..


A pci C64 fully compatible, with 5,25 inch drive support, and extensions like running software from pc hard disk, or other media.

And some way to share between the goodies above, together with some flexible implementation, that all can communicate = family, so good coders can make good stuff.

All running and usable on linux! Or aros-os4-morphos with a firefox like browser, supporting flash, java.. etc..:help: Preferred open source software implementations:whistle: If something breaks/goes bankrupt others can continue the job:bowdown:
