As the title says, looking for a replacement Agnus chip for a Rev.6A motherboard (OCS).
The motherboard gives green screen at boot and leaving it on for a bit the only chip that gets warm is the Agnus, so i'm assuming it's Agnus that's broken and not chip ram ;).
Do you need what version of Agnus? 8370, 8371 or 8372A?
8370 is the NTSC version, 8371 is the PAL-only counterpart. Doesn't matter what you do with traces in the A500 motherboard, those will give you only 512kb of chip RAM.
Trapdoor RAM will be slow-fast RAM.
The 8372A is the universal 1Mb chip Agnus.

The 8372A is the universal 1Mb Agnus. It configures itself as NTSC or PAL.
Grounding (PAL) or routing pin 41 to +5V through a 220Ohm resistor (NTSC).
8372AB and most 8375 Agnii are 2Mb. For using one of those you need a MiniMegiChip or Megachip.

I am humbled by your knowledge of Amiga computers with the drinking that you do. I started drinking in 1966 because my friend Lou's Dad made wine
for the dinner table, and it was always dinner time. So by the time 82 came around, I was an expert drinker, and had bought a Atari 400 and was playing games. Then on to the Commodore 128, and then the Amiga 500 in 88. I spent 3 grand on that baby.....and its sat there for many years now.
I have been building my own PC's for many years, but the Amiga 500 will always have a special place in my heart and a emptiness in my wallet. No sooner did I trick out my 500 and they come out with 2000 and the toaster and put me to shame. I remember going to a mall where they had a headset and virtual reality gun thing, and it was so kewl back then. It ran off of an Amiga 2000 or whatever, but I dont know if the head set used two small sony tv sets or what, but I loved it and cant understand why now we dont have fantastic games by now. Around 1990 I paid 800 bucks for the one meg hard drive with some ram A-530, and now you could get 4 "2" tb hd's for that!!!
I loved my flight sims back then, and around 93 or so, many started leaving the amiga scene and going with PC. Such a shame.
