I'm assuming you'll include the CPU board?

And money sent for the memory/IDE board and two hybrid modules for my GBA1000!:)
Thank you very much Kipper2k!
The distance from the motherboard to the top of the CPU is 2.4 cm in the position shown on the picture (I couldn't get the camera further down to show the exact reading). The top of the 2-wire connector is 3.2 cm above the motherboard. To get the board mounted this low, one capacitor needs to be unsoldered from the MB and put on its side.
K,
I shouldn't mention this yet but i am also working on a 14mhz accelerator for the a500, it is an old design that has been around. My intentions would be to implement this in the a500 adapter board itself so instead of using the regular adapter board you could use the accel board instead. I have a rough design drawn up. Don't expect anything soon. (I am just terrible at keeping secrets)
It will accept 12mhz, and 16mhz 68000 and 68010 cpus.
K,
i haven't seen much performance info on it. do you think its worthwhile doing ? I know there is aone just done on a1k, with 2mb ram. I wonder how that performs...

Compared to my 7MHz A500+ with 010, that is:
+ 42% Dhrystones
+ 14% MIPS (and +14% chip speed)
I guess it depends on how rare those 16 MHz capable CPUs are (and what your board ends up costing). People (like me) are willing to pay for the small upgrade from 68k to 68010, so surely someone will pay for a little bit extra.
It does sound like a good idea to create it as a replacement for the regular CPU relocation board so it can be retro-fitted.
Thanks mate :)
I've just mounted the thing now, as it will be some time until I get my own cf/8mb and it can always be replaced. Yes the small capacitor under the cpu needs replacint but in my case also the two big ones on the top of the motherboard.. I' counting on you the do that for me :D
Installed mine, all working like a dream with a soft kickstart. Now just waiting for my Kickstart 3.1 chip to arrive, then I can boot without a floppy first :-). Thanks again, has brought new life to my 22 year old A500!
Is there a way to disable parts of this board?
I ask as just after fitting this unit I decided I liked the look of the expandable ACA500 and so ordered one up.
:coffee:
The two refuse to work together, presumably because the IDE interfaces conflict or perhaps the fast ram.
Anyone else tried this combination?
Until my Kickstart 3.1 arrives, the ACA500 has the advantage that it includes an inbuilt 3.1 ROM which allows the CF card to boot directly, which is a nice touch.
I never imagined all these years into the Amiga's life we would have so many opportunities to add new and exciting hardware to our 500s, for years mine's sat, yellowing, collecting dust, and now, all of a sudden we have new ways to bring them up to date and make them more flexible. I'm spoilt for choice!
