Thank you Kipper. I got my board yesterday.
My 2 boards came in today. They look good. Thank you!
Board arriwed today, thanks
OK might or might not get it work.
DH0 appers in early startup menu as a bootable device, but it doesn't boot.
It says NODOS, so is there something wrong with my installation or do I have a problem with my CF card?

I have now tinkered some time with my ram/hd expansion, it is very professional quality.
However I can't recomend it to CDTV as a ram/hd solution. There is a one major reason for that. Highest part of expansion will be CPU, to install it so that expasion sits straight you can't close cover. You can install it so that is possible to close cover, but then expansion sits skewed.
Minor reason is that two needed signals, it is more difficult to solder them to mobo than with A500.
Declaring interest for two boards 8mb versions.
Board delivered last week. Was away and received from post office at Friday. Thanks kipper. Tried to get it to work in my first A500 with no luck. Posting photos. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/23/usepazan.jpg first Amiga

Kipper board removed and everything went back to normal. Maybe I should have removed piggyback also. Will try tomorrow.
My second Amiga has dual roms (1.3 and 2.04) and kipper board won't fit... For now. Any suggestions???

Hi, IDE will not boot under KS1.3, does the memory show? Remove all other addons and boot into WB and see if the memory is reported, i am not sure what effects your dual rom may have. If you have a 2.05 or greater KS put that in, remove all other addons, don't connect the 2 pin wire to the motherboard, boot into WB and see if the 8mb ram is reported
Unfortunately I am not having any luck with my 2 boards in my 2 A1000s. With KS1.3, I boot to yellow screen. I get a little further with KS 1.2 in that WB starts to load but everything crashes. I've tried having the 2 pin wire connected and disconnected with same results from both boards. Anything I should try next?
Interesting, I managed to get access to one more A1000 and much to my surprise, the boards work on that machine, so something wonky must be going on with my 2 machines. This makes for an interesting mystery.
Black screen and yellow screen indicate issues with connectivity issues with the socket and the cpu. You can try bending pins VERY slightly to try to get a better connection, careful though, they are very brittle and won't take a lot of movement. Also, the round pins of the Fastmem board do not go as deep into the motherboard CPU socket as the flat CPU pins so they may not be maaking good contact. On one of my a500's i did have to replace the onboard CPU socket as every time i placed the fastmem board on it i could not get a clean connection. Normally the problem pins are pins 1 - 32 (right hand side, and don't forget also that there may be a capacitor preventing the board from pressing down all the way
The 2 pin wire is only for IDE and will not affect the RAM visible/working
For those wondering about which KS Rom's work with IDE, I can confirm 2.05 and 3.1 work perfectly with Kippers CF-IDE-RAM boards.
I'm working on an a500 compatible patched KS1.3 rom ATM but don't have it 100% working yet ... Stay tuned. :)
I was getting black screens, so I put some dabs of hot glue to secure the CPU socket and board, to ensure a solid connection. Since doing this, no black screens, all working fine.
New update. Remove memory upgrade and piggyback but still black screen and no floppy sounds
Then I put the board directly above the CPU socket not the side and it works

Conclusion so far: kipper memory upgrade =AAA!!!
The problem I had must be the upper CPU dock in riser card. But since I used the lower one all is ok. The Rf shield and case fit a little difficult and they apply a little press to the CPU but I think that will be ok.
I tried soft kicking 3.1 but with no luck at the moment. Some works on Winuae but none on real A500.
Thanks again kipper!!!

Oykas, you have the riser board around the wrong way, it's purpose is to move the expansion away from the keyboard so you can mount the keyboard correctly and close the case.
Ah I just saw your other posts, looks like there is a defect in the riser board if it only works the way you have it.
I suggest you check the soldering on all the riser board pins and see if there is an incomplete or dry joint. If you can't find anything obvious I'd send it back to kipper for repair or replacement.
Hehe, it sure is fun! :-)
Hi kipper, sorry to add to the support calls! :D
I installed a ks 3.1 ROM
Attachment 71445
Attachment 71447
and without the board it boots via a floppy, however when I put in the memboard I either get a yellow screen or this red screen.
But using the memboard and ks1.3 it boots.
I'm going to try on another Amiga and see what happens.
I tried a different socket on the riser board, same issue and I can't bend the caps enough to make room without it. Strange it works with the ks1.3 though...
I know it is probably not very helpful, but I got the same KS3.1 chip from AmigaKit working in a Rev. 8A board (A500+) together with this 8MB/IDE board.
It must be a bad connection somewhere since I imagine that KS3.1 tests more memory than KS1.3 (which maybe doesn't touch the 8MB at all?). Have you tried testing the 8MB when using KS1.3?
I'm interested in one 8MB, please
Hi,
Yellow screen, black screen, and also the Amiga fault screen is an indication of bad connection of the CPU to motherboard, normally it is the right hand side pins of the CPU that cause the issue due to the Caps that may be higher on one motherboard than another, try removing the adapter, and use the socket from that on the bottom of the fastmem board and plug that into the motherboard and see what happens, also check the solder joints of the CPU socket on both the adapter board and the fastmem board to see if they are solid, check pins as well, make sure none broke/missing, if you can't get it going, no worries, send it back and i will replace it. Also try without using the 2 pin wire connected and see if the computer boots and RAM visible
@Xianti,
Take a picture of the board installed so i can see your wire connections
I'm away from home till Wednesday so i will look after new requests then
hello thread, i could be interested in one ide+8mb board, but i would put it into an A2000 whith a SupraRAM 2000 with 2 MB RAM. is it possible or could be some incompatibility problems?
thanks
cheers

Hi Kipper.
Please take me off the list as I bought one from another member who can't use his.
His A500 is rev 3 and can't use the new 3.1 ROM chips and neither does it have the possibility to expand the chip ram to 1 MB.
He will continue with disks for the 500 or maybe a floppy emulator, and later on: go pro with a 1200 like the rest of us :D
If it works With ks1.3 nyt not With ks3.1 it might be A500 motherboard revision issue. Some early models requires jump wires to use With ks3.1
Declaring interest in one 8MB board. I do also want to buy some of your other items you have on your web page.
Should I just send you a PM with the list and then get an okay from you to make a payment ?

Thanks Kipper, packaged arrived safe and sound last week. Yet to test due to eprom 27c800 and Willem issues. That'll teach me to buy a cheapo programmer.
Hi, just a quick question on the mem board installation: Is the expansion slot still usable with the 2 pin header in place, let's say for an Impact Series II expansion?
Finally able to do some more tests!

do you have a KS 2.05 to try it with? I had issues with 1.3 + trapdoor RAM. As soon as I changed to 2.05 it played OK with the trapdoor RAM.
I would like to order one of the 8MB boards at the earliest convenience please!
[my lonely A500 needs a HDD to keep it company]
I have also emailed @kipper2k...since this thread is rather long now...
I am interested in A500 8MB FastMem Board with CF IDE and A500 CPU Adapter. I have 500+ with 2,05 37.300 ROM. 2 MB Chip. I am also interested in additional set of risers for use with Indivision.
To follow up with my A1000 issues. I can confirm that both boards work in a Revision A motherboard but boot to yellow screen on Revision 6 motherboards. It was mentioned that some A500s require additional soldering and I am wondering if Rev 6 A1000 motherboards may require the same thing.
I got a rev6a motherboard from Amigakit late last year so popped out the original rev5 board my A500 was born with. I sorted out my eprom burning issues by borrowing a professional programmer
from a workmate. Next wired up switches to switch between 1.3/3.1 and 1mB chipram and 512k chip/512k slow.
Had forgotten how to load classic workbench after more than 6 months so rewatched all the Youtube clips, etc.
The point is that initially all was working fine, albeit with the odd crash or error. There were 2 things I wasn't happy with, there is a capacitor that "will" short out on the CF IDE chip socket pins if not insulated, and the other
thing was that my new mobo had green corrosion on cpu socket pins 63 and 64. Initially I just put some electrical tape on the capacitor but realised that the 8mb ide board was not sitting straight. So I removed the pcb
and extended the capacitor pins to bend it out of the way. Would have been easier to just put a new cap there I guess.
At the same time I cleaned the corrosion off the cpu socket pins. Upon turning the Amiga on all I got was a black screen, by then it was nearly midnight so went to bed a bit peeved.
It turned out that after cleaning the corrosion off the socket pins the 32pin header supplied with the 8mb ide card wasn't making good contact. I proved this by inserting a spare 68000 cpu into the
header and turned the computer on to a black screen. Then I removed the header and inserted the cpu into the original mobo socket, all good and working.
I had to bend out the spring part of pins 63 and 64 on the socket so the 32pin round pins would make proper contact.
My Amiga is now working heaps better without the crashing and errors I was getting before. As Kipper has mentioned most problems are likely being caused by poor connections at the cpu socket.
I believe in electronics that if You mess with something and afterwards it doesn't work, it's probably not just a coincidence.

Declaring interest in a 4Mb one, for Amiga 500.
Sorry if this has been answered in this very long thread but.. do these boards have a disable jumper for the RAM?
And, can the 8MB version be jumpered to 4MB etc? Thanks.
Declaring interest in 8mb board please.
thanks
Can someone tells me where I need to connect the wires on an A1000 motherboard ? Thanks for your help.
I don't have an A1000 check out this url...
http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/downloads/Zorro2-pins.txt i believe you want pins 17 and 19. same as the other amigas
Dear Kipper2k,
is your "Amiga 500 8mb fastmem board with IDE" compatible with a CDTV?
Your website says yes, but I was unsure if the IDE was available as well when the board is installed on a CDTV?
I sent you an email about that, but I can imagine how much you're busy :)
Anyway, if your board is compatible with the CDTV (8mb ram + IDE), I'm declaring interest for one.
Hi,
check this url...
http://www.kipper2k.com/amigaforsale/CDTV/
You need to tie into Int2 and OVR signals on the motherboard to enable the IDE. If you would like one send me a PM for ordering info
