How nice! different intensity each LED.
I've put a Feedback, but does not appear, maybe I do something wrong.
hi !
i come back, here, i just installed my Led and got a little Prob :
The Middle Red led is non working :
http://youtu.be/s4gC_fbVFOk
The same thing appears with the Old LED Adapter and it was for that i bought a new one.
So i think the prob is not the Adapter but my A1200.. Any Idea ?
Hello Foul,
nothing is faulty, and your old LED pcb is ok and you can sell it here very easily. My solution work in this way: in the middle of the harddisk activity LED there is the LED for the PCMCIA cards. This LED need to be activated by this mod
http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/extraled.html
otherwise, you can put a card on the PCMCIA port but you will see nothing about the activity of the card.
I repeat, if you are not satisfied about my solution, i think, the best move is to sell this adapter here on Amibay. You will sell it very quicly!
I have here two or three PCB that are like you wish to have, without the PCMCIA activity LED. I can build one for you.

Stefano
Extra !
Will do the trick !
Thx
Hello Foul,
i wait your response, done the mod!
By the way, on the first post, there is all explained!
Regards
Stefano
No prob.. will post after the fix done ;)
edit : Fix done but Led not blinking :(

I tryed to invert Red/blue one and the Middle Blue at the bottom not working anymore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWqy42MV7ic
i'm sure i made a mistake...
Hello Foul,
try with a multimeter, with test diode, to see if the middle diode is ok! If yes, it is only a question of logic on the A1200 motherboard. The user Obiwan has sent a video, try to ask him! I do not have a PCMCIA card, so i can tell you nothing!
Regards
Stefano
Now, i have seen the video! Just to explain: there is two red and one white, because the PCMCIA LED (white) is not linked to the harddisk LED (red), so i have choosed two different colors.
All the LEDs are ok! It is only an issue of the mod!
So what to do ?
Hello Foul,
what mean? Wish to have a LED board without PCMCIA LED? If yes, you can try to sell here the parts that you have bought. If, in a couple of days, nothing is sold, sent to me the two boards, then i will build one for you without extra LED and i will refund you for the other LED board.
Regards
Stefano
i explain : you sent me a board with :
Power : blue/blue/blue
Floppy : white/white/white
Hard Drive : red/red/red
like i requested.. no prob...
i swapped the blue and red leds and added a white led (taken from the old board) in the middle to obtain :
Power/pcmcia : red/white/red
Floppy : white/white/white
Hard Drive : blue/blue/blue
but i think i made a mistake because now, the two red leds are blinking low.. et the white one (PCMCIA) not blinking at all ! and my PCMCIA WIFI Card is inserted and configured... not a problem of PCMCIA...
and the middle blue led is not blinking too...
it's not your fault but mine ;)
What king of colors are available other then red/blue/white ? is there any Yellow or Orange ? I think to buy another board to you but need to know what differents olors are availables :)
edit: i'm just thinkink something...
is the PCMCIA LED in the middle of Power or Hard Drive ??? i though it was the White Led in the middle of Power but i was wrong, it's the blue led blinking very low in the middle of hard drive !!! i'm right ? If so how to give more power to the PCMCIA LED ? remove resistor from this led ?
My mod looks like this:
Attachment 79095
Attachment 79096
I used 1x 10K resistor (left) and 1x 4.7K resitor (right). And BC327 transistor.
That's all.
Edit: middle led is PCMCIA, left and right is HDD.
Hello Foul,
there is many colors that you will find on Ebay, but, bright like what i have used, there is only four color: red, white, green and blue. The value of the resistors is calibrated with this type of LED.
Regards
Stefano
Re-checkek, re-wired all and everything back to normal or near ;)
Just one thing.. the Red LEDs are not very bright... just check this video :
http://youtu.be/5lm3y7t_hyk
And the Hard drive Leds (Blue) are blinking very low even when hard drive is not in use...
I think its CF-IDE adapter problem.
it's Kipper one :
Attachment 79105
I have one CF-IDE adapter with this problem. Tested in A1200 and A600 with same result. Replaced with new one adapter problem solved. Have you this problem with original leds ? Or try to disconnect the PCMCIA led, and see what happens, for sure.
yes, same thing with original leds...
Hello Foul,
the blue light is the most intense light, then follow green light (a little bit less intense), white and then red, that is the less intense light.
Blue LED need a high value of resistor to attenuate the brightness of the blue light (i know, that is trivial but...), red LED need a very low value of resistor. If you change the position of the LED, you need, on my board, to change the resistor.

Stefano
yes, i showed that... swapped led and resistor too .. thx :)

declaring interest in two units
Hello,
i will made new parts ASAP and inform all of you when the new boards are ready. There is a little bit of delay!
Regards
Stefano
Thanky you very much for the information! No problem.
Hi Stefano,
any news about the A1200 leds? I'd like to get one of these :)
interested 2x
Hello to all!
at the moment i am a little bit stuck with other things! But i have in mind to made other units. I need only time.
Some parts to build this device are here, other parts are at the moment missing.

These still available?
Obviously I'm interested if so! :-)
I'm interested
i'm also interested in 2 pieces
Also interrested by 2 kits
I am interested in 2 of the whole article (with cable).
Hello, to all,
at the moment, some parts are missing, to complete the job! Sorry.
I can put on sale (at a lower price) only the pcb.
Regards
Stefano
I'm in no rush - if you do manage to get the complete kit then I will buy 2. Thanks Alan
Im interested in one kit if still available. Sending you a PM

I would like to buy one complete unit if more will be available. I'm in the UK.
I would be interested in 1 kit if you get a chance to build more, thanks.
Hello,
at the moment all is stopped.
Sorry
