Fighting Fantasy Collection

I'm sure most of you remember these from the 80's. Some of these i've had since my youth, most of them i've picked up from hither and thither over the years, and despite them looking beautiful stacked up against Viz Annuals and various TV Cream books, they've unfortunately (great as they are) outlived their shelf-life. Time for them to make way for infinitely more useful stuff...

There are 30 books in total. 26 of these are the main FF books, and the also-present Steve Jackson's Sorcery! is complete (books 1-4.)

Ideally, i'd like around £40 for the lot, excluding P&P, but i'm open to offers.
These are listed elsewhere (at a higher price) but tbh that 'other place' is just becoming a pain in the wrong 'un, and i'd be far happier to let them go here. I'm also open to swaps/trades for anything that's plastic/metal/over 20 years old. Fnar.

You know, i'm not even sure I should be listing these here, since they're nothing to do with any kind of home computer gaming, but what the hell. Mods, if there's an issue, you can buy this thread. £40, plus P&P. And you get loads of books free.

I've never heard of these. Are they like the old 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books except that you roll dice at decision points instead of picking one? I always enjoyed those old CYOA books. :)

Unfortunately, the fact that they are overseas and heavy takes me out of the running. Good luck with the sale!

Yeah, they are choose your own adventure books, with some stats thrown in for combat and dice rolls. If they were local I'd also be interested - only have one left from my childhood :)

BTW: Two are released on iOS if you want to take a look.

I had 1-50 complete back in the day, loved these books!

I forgot about the ios, android and psp releases. Warlock of Firetop Mountain was done on all 3 i think, was the other Talisman of Death?

Shame House of Hell and Forest of Doom weren't done. Easily my favourites :)

Will have to edit the first post as a bundle of these has just sold elsewhere. Just 30 left.

Fancy organising a swap for them. I have tons of retro computer goodies you could choose from. I was an absolute addict of these books back in the day to the extent I even wrote my own complete with illustrations and would love to have them again

Citadel of Chaos, House of Hell and Creature of Havoc were my top 3! Never completed Creature of Havoc though, dead hard!

need a good Fighting Fantasy book exchange (even the 'official' site has zero activity), i have about 70 of these books myself (plus about another 30ish of the 'knockoffs' such as Middle Earth Quest, Grailquest, Lone Wolf etc), and have about 28 more on my 'need list' (of which about 15-16 were in this lot here)....

shipping always seems to be a bit of a problem tho...

Well, it's pretty much a done deal with BB i'm afraid, but yeah, even so, P&P to Canada would be an absolute killer.

Still, to only be 28 off completion is pretty good, considering how many extra books outside the main canon there were - i'm sure it must have run to well over 100 books, not all of em easy to find now. Good luck finishing your collection! :)

thats why i have about 80 sets... :P long time gamer...

I actually found part of my 'original' set a few months ago...half the dice that came with my original D&D basic set back when i got it for my 11th birthday in '81 (6, 8 and 12 siders)

There are dice roller apps on iOS :)

Not the same, but in a pinch...

the 'Sorcery' Books should also have dice at the bottom of the pages..you just flip the pages and stop randomly....

I did notice that, but never thought to use them for that :)

Not sure on titles or condition would have to check but if anyone was interested i can dig them out.

well, thats what i was trying to get across TC, anything in here is just kind of submarine-ing other users and not giving everyone who might be interested a fair chance... (and possibly lead to silent bidding type of situations as well (ie: just give them to me and we'll work something out privately and no one will be the wiser...etc)

No offence taken on my behalf. I am still fairly new here and needed the correct procedure to be clarified. Have now officially declared interest in the correct place and hopefully in the correct manor.
Thanks to all for making this clear as I will know how best to approach any similar situations in the future:thumbsup:.
Re - silent bidding however - I thought the seller had declared already postage only so the terms of the trade were already made clear, hence my hesitation with the rules. I feared more of the hijack of thread rule than suspected thoughts of silent bidding.

problem is, until the offer-er creates a thread specifically stating what is on offer, and at what terms (ie: price, even if that price is 0, or 'for shipping cost') (as opposed to a more general 'i wonder if anyone would be interested in some books')...

...we aren't actually allowed to express interest (according to the current rules)

that is, as i understand the rules...

(and no i am not one of those 'rules' nazis, i just like everything to be fair for everyone (i am in fact, a socialist :P ))
