I'm selling my R4i Gold for NDS/DSL and DSi. To use this you need a micro sdcard (not supplied). The card is brand new and has only been used to test that it works. All information about the card can be found here http://www.r4i-gold.com/indexe.asp

That's fine. One word of warning if you have a DSi. Nintendo are slowly rolling out a firmware update to 1.5 which will invalidate all of these types of card. If you will be using a DSi make sure you don't update the firmware.

Could you possibly try installing DSLinux on it (the full version with the filesystem (so it has more than one file), not the one where everything is embedded into the executable) and see if it works (if TC declines)?
DSLinux does work however if you have a DS or DSL you need the memory expansion pack that comes with the DS browser. a DSi has more memory so it'll run fine. As I don't know much about Linux all I know is that it runs properly but I don't know exactly what it'll do. Also DSLinux does not have a GUI so you do need to know what you are doing.

I've tried some of the emulators(ZXDS,FRodoDS and fMSX) and they are all very good. There is even some MAME emulators on the DS as well. The main problem with this card is the kernal is not updated as often as other r4 cards so you have to wait a while before the newest of games can be played.
