(another) z3sdram v1.2 - a Zorro III network & memory combo card

Hi all,

Update as of 31.07.2014

For sale is the last one of two are another 2 (two) newly assembled z3sdram v1.2 cards developed and built by myself. It is a Zorro III card carrying the following stuff:

• 64 megabytes of SDRAM
• 10M/100M Ethernet interface

Attachment 67500

The card works well on Amiga 3000 and 4000 under AmigaOS 3.x, along with the SANA-II driver I have also hacked on my own. Both the card firmware and device driver code are experimental and will be subject to further improvement, so power users are welcome to join the development.

The price is EUR 120,- and postage is another EUR 20,-. PayPal (preferred) or bank transfer are accepted.

In the original sale thread, next in queue were users arti040 and strim. User arti040 kindly agreed to let strim move ahead, so by default the card is being reserved to strim​. User strim kindly reported reception of his card, so next in queue please :)

The FPGA firmware and device driver have been fixed to tolerate 68040 (tested on A3640) and 68060 (Cyberstorm MK3) CPUs.


Update as of 13.08.2014 one more board has been built and tested. Reserved to user TorajaBoy .

Can I ask will it work with OS3.9 on a 4000 and do you think I'll have any probs with a Picasso IV graphics card also installed?

Really can't tell as I don't have any experience with OS3.9. I believe there's not much difference between 3.9 and 3.1 in terms of handling Zorro peripherals and libs/drivers.

Regarding Picasso graphics card I hope everything should be fine, but again the only graphics card I have is CV64.

Received mine yesterday and having a play now tnt23 pm incoming seems I may have an issue :(

A modern design ZIII card with 100MBit Network card and ZIII ram for a reasonable price is a veeerry appealing proposition !

Wondering too whether a new batch is in the planning, would want one as well!

If you do build and sell any more I'm the next one in line with the interested crew.

I contacted tnt23 via twitter. He says, if there is enough interest he may consider building a few more.

With which Busters does this work? Other modern ethernet cards seem to require 11. :(

x-surf3 work well with buster 7

what mean modern ? :-) rj45 ?

buster chip is easy to change if socketed , super buster 11 is all the time available

I think I read somewhere it will also work with older Busters. But hopefully tnt23 will clear this up soon!

Don't remember trying it with Buster 7, perhaps some of Z3SDRAM users would report. No problems with Busters 9 and 11.

Glad to see you here tnt23. What would it require to convince you to produce another batch?

Ordering another stack of PCBs and pile components for 4 boards at least, this would also require allocating certain funds. I don't want to do preorders, so it would obviously take some time :)

Please count me next in line for one board.
