Keyboard time
I have a few questions concerning Amiga keyboards.
1. Is it possible to use an A4K keyboard on an A1200 mobo? If so, how?
2. Is it easy to rewire -and actually use- a CDTV keyboard onto a pc? Any side-effects?
Any how-to details will come in handy.. Thanks :)

1. Definitely by using adaptors like PCkey, Lyra or EZkey.
2. Definitely but you need to rewire it as you said. Since I have done this on my spare CDTV keyboard, I can give it a shot once I'll be home @ night. We can also meet and give it to you to check it out before proceeding :)

If you use one of the PC Key adapters you'll need a AT-PS2 adapter, I'm not sure about the Lyra, EZKey.

Steve.

Gee thanks Mario, that'd be great! Do you think that a Micronik kbrd adapter would do the job too? I already have one of those..

I've tested my rewired CDTV keyboard in both PCkey1200 and EZkey with 100% success. Never had a Lyra though but don't see why it won't work
The Micronic is the one that you put the 1200 keyboard with the ribbon inside? If so... then it works also :)

Yes, it's the one with the ribbon cable, i got recently from JLPedro.
Check this thread http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php...oard+interface
There's a picture of it near the bottom of the first page. This is only for the A4k keyboard, i have no intention to use the CDTV on the A1200.

Just a matter of rewiring the keyb_DATA, kb_clock, +Vcc, GND & reset lines from the A1200 to socket and using the Amiga keyboard.
I did that for a keyboard-less A500 with an A2000 keyboard. My hack-test A500 board.

EZkey needs a AT-PS2 adapter. ;)

Almost all keyboard adapters need AT to PS2 changer but I thought of skipping this part since Salaxi knows plus even if he didn't... these changers are ultra El'Cheapo to even discuss about them :P

So, to make some conclusions! I do have a few AT<>PS2 adapters around. I also have the Micronik i/f with the 5-pin DIN round socket (AT). Is it correct that it's all i need to hook the A4k keyboard to the A1200?
In the second part of my thoughts, am i correct to understand that it's just rewiring for the CDTV keyboard to operate under a PC?
