any ideas steve?
edd, what happens when you boot and hold both mouse buttons does the drive show there, are you using 3.9
Bit of an update, I decided to redo it for two reasons. Firstly, having used it for a while, I was finding it difficult to get the CF card in and out while the card was in the top slot, but that was the only one the IDE cable I had would reach to. Also the cable was stretched as far as it would go to reach, which can't have been good for either the cable or the card. So I found a nice long 70cm ATA 33 IDE cable on eBay, which is exactly what I needed :) Because it's an ATA 33 cable it works in reverse, so I have the short length going to the main IDE HD and then the long section going to the CF card, which I have also moved down to the bottom PCI slot. Works like a charm, and is much neater.
While I had it all out I also fitted a 3.1 ROM set I got a while ago but never got around to fitting, and it has solved my cold boot problem too :)
edd, i want to do pretty much what you are doing here, can i ask was this the you got?

Still can't get the IDE HD to boot if a CF isn't inserted, any ideas?
