Will run Win7 :D
Not switched it on yet tho lol.

Not having much luck with this build.
Installed Windows just fine but as soon as I install the ATI drivers it BSOD on next boot, only way to fix is boot safe mode and delete the driver.
Stuck now as can't play any Games with it which was the whole point lol.
try installing some of the older driver versions?
Tried the drivers from the cd it was the same. Will look at others today. Why does it have to be such a pain lol.

Driver issue? - hmm perhaps not!
Not had an ASrock board before, are these any good? I never usually opt for a cheap motherboard, perhaps this was the mistake here.
Although everything seems in great condition I'm starting to regret buying used parts now.
Steve was powerpie using these together before he sold them to you
I think they came from the same PC.
Issue partially solved now. I removed the Graphics Card and cleared CMOS. Then it powered on and booted with on board GPU.
Put the 7950 back in and bios had cleared it's self again! Anyway, re-done and booted and the graphics driver loaded up fine :)
Guess CMOS battery is dead or flash corrupt? Will replace the battery and update/re-flash the Bios.
For now, running Assetto Corsa full details is 56fps, drop a couple of settings down a notch and I have solid 60fps :D
Definatley something is not right with the mobo though, wouldn't power on even without the 7950 until I cleared the CMOS by shorting the jumper pins.

Aside from the CMOS issue all running well, played some Assetto Corsa and COD Black Ops II, all running smooth. Spec Ops II maxed out and smooth.
Not going to switch the PC off now lol, well I can let her sleep :D
Been playing all day, no further problems, temps are all good.
COD Ghosts visual's are really impressive, wipes the floor with the XB1!
Just installing Crysis 3 to test, this and Ghosts are two Games I couldn't play with my old PC.
welcome to the world of gaming lol.
the issues were probably remnance of some old bios settings would also explain the ram not working.
sure a few of us can help you tinker if you want to.

pretty sure your ram is in the wrong slots mate..
should be XOXO (with X having ram installed and O being open.)
id be willing to let you slap me in the face if im wrong.

Yeah I already noticed that after I took the pics, the ram is in slots 1 and 3 now. It's all running fine now, just cmos gets corrupt when I switch it off lol and needs to be cleared before it will switch on again.Quote:

Bought everyone in the house one when rebuilding their pc's. Ran into a lilttle trouble with a certain batch of these back in 2012. The retention frames were badly made and cracked. But I contacted the company direct and managed to get a good bundle of spares, something that can be a right pita with some companies lol.

Hi EB yeah it's an Arctic cooling freezer pro, I'm intending to replace with the corsair hydro as I use the same in my other PC and really happy with it.
Just got up to my budget on this build for now...

Quick update, all is running well now.
Just need to get the new cooler and a fan controller so I can hook up the front fans.
Disapointed with how Watchdogs runs with the Radeon but no big deal as I play it on mt XB1 and already finished it and bought the season pass on that system.
Everything else runs great, COD Ghosts, Crysis3, etc.
Assetto Corsa is perfect in max settings which is sweet.
Playing some older games in DX11 with Ultra settings for the first time such as Grid 2 Splinter Cell Blacklist, WOW, what a difference and to see them in full HD with Ultra settings!
Overall very pleased, new pics when I get my cooler :D
Oh and the Sims 4 runs fine too lol, although that runs on Ultra settings on my 2yr old PC :S
Roll on FC4!

Is it worth upgrading to 16gb ram?
Or overkill just now?
What about i7, is it much faster?
16GB Ram? I think overkill unless if you doing 3D autocad or 3D Modelings and rendering
i7? Yes it is much faster depending what i7 CPU is :)
Steve if just for games both are overkill but if using for 3d or video editing the more the ram and extra cores the better but not really faster
I have just got an older 1366 mobo and with a i7 920 which will be swapped for a xeon x5650 which has 6 cores and 6 hyperthreaded cores :)
And I'm waiting for a second too
All games I tried so far work great on max settings except watchdogs which as you said before was down to the radeon. I might get an nvidia high end gpu for my other pc.
Get rid of some more of this Amiga tat lol.
My old pc is fine for the basic video editing I do but I will try out studio 17 on the new one. Don't do any autocad work or anything like that, mainly games and general browsing the Web...
watch dogs is just one of those games.
im sure it will get updates down the line..

High Detail settings (or medium if its still not smooth)
2x TXAA / 4x MSAAThat should be true for any system with 3gb Video ram.
Hey Shambles, that's pretty much what I run it. Even if I lower the settings it doesn't really make much notable difference, I think the choppiness is just poor optimisation. It's actually better to play on my XB1 lol.
Some good news, replacing the CMOS battery solved the issue I has with Bios getting corrupt.
Still need to get a new cooler and fan controller..

Watchdogs won't run well on AMD unfortunately - nVidia crippled it within development to run bad on anything other than their cards I'm afraid which is a shame. That being said I hear there are user mods out there which brings the game back closer to how it looked on the E3 demo and also provides fixes for a lot of these problems as well, tho I can't confirm they work because I don't own the game

The mission pack comes out on 23rd for season pass holders and I already bought on XB1. I'll look forward to playing through the game again on PC when they fix the AMD issues.
Which reminds me, time to check out GTA4 on PC again, was too slow on my last rig...
remember to set desktop to 800x600 or something stupid so you can start gta 4. then after you started it and changed resolution you can change desktop back to the correct res. GTA 4 should run sweet on your setup btw. works well on mine and yours is better.

aux could be a duff reading i have some with minus 127c and some with 127c if it dont change hide it
also you can disable fan settings in bios then control them in speed fan

I was running a GTX555 until today, managed to get hold of a GTX660 FTW SIG2 3GB
at a reasonable price and it runs well including the Oculus DK2 stuff.
I think I'm getting addicted to pc upgrading again! Was just on the net looking at one of the new 8 core amd cpu's for my main pc and a high end nvidia gpu...
