I wonder why my X-Surf (3CC) only has a 3.5-inch IDE port? All the documentation I find about it seems to target this version, not mine.

Good on ya, girl! I just checked my X-Surf, I hadn't realised it had an IDE controller on it -- That's pretty awesome! Mine has a Realtek chip on it, so I guess it's a different revision of the card.Quote:

One problem with the IDE controller on the X-Surf is, it isn't bootable.
The Clock ports are a great addition though. :thumbsup:
Hope you can strike a deal SdG. It's probably the best NIC for a desktop Miggy in any instance.

Luckily, I'll boot off the on-board IDE then use the IDE on the card for my other devices. :) I have a SilverSurfer that I was going to use on my Buddha's Clock Port, but it is not compatible with the flash phoenix version. :( I'll be able to use it now.
I've wanted an Amiga network card for quite some time but could never justify the cost. This one is almost exactly what I was willing to pay so I went ahead and grabbed it. :) With the exception of DMA access for my hard drives, my A4000 is exactly where I want it!

Your Silver Surfer should be fine off the Clock ports.
Do you have a decent Graphics card in the A4KD? You surfing will be rather limited without at least an 040 & decent graphics card. Even an 040 card with fast ram is better than an A3640 card.
An 030 A4KD might be a little dissapointing for you, that's all. ;)

It certainly is the best NIC you can get for an Amiga. It has served me very well. You can still get them new as well and I highly recommend them.Quote:
