Afaik i can't see at what place I am on the list. If the list still comes on first ordered first served basis its maybe a good idea if anyone who recently received a vampire 600 leaves a note here when they ordered it and when they got it.
I see both sides of the fence and fully understand that people have a family, day job to pay bills and this is a hobby that has taken off way higher than originally anticipated.
I also fully understand, answering thousands of emails would stop production.
However, if you look at any family, marriage and friend fallouts, it will likely be from lack of communication leading to anger and frustration
At the outset, if an auto responder, explained things like we will be in touch or price of chips has gone up or customs charges on bulk items, then the screamers wouldn't have complained as they're getting information.
I am also in an apple ii group and want a hand built cffa3000 card. The manufacturer says production likely to be November 2017 !!!
I don't winge or bicker as that's the state of play and how it is and am willing to wait.
Had I sent an email and NOT got a reply for months, then you can see how people get ratty who normally would not do so
4th in queue at ASDA wallmart and temperatures rise !!
I have ordered and received kipper products previously and didn't chase him, they arrived, fantastic quality and well worth the wait.
With hind sight, maybe a job creation Scheme for a school leaver to reply to people would have prevented what we're reading and this would then give kipper2k a more relaxed working environment
I am looking forward to them catching up, breathing again and developing the 1200 version in due course and enjoying doing it

At last, i started last week with the installation of the Vampire 2.
I've tried the V2 on a A600 V1.1 MB. The V2 won't stay fix on the CPU. ( there where no fixing parts delivered with my V2!):(
But today I used it in my A600 V1.5 MB and it stayed fix on the CPU and it worked from the first try :)
Can anyone share his installation files, StartupSequence, etc for using all the features of V2?
Anyone used it with Magic WB or WB 3.9? What's the experience with these configurations?
Thanks again Majsta and all the best.
I'll admit at first my reaction was a bit heated, but then I have been waiting for 2-3 months to hear news, I know others have been waiting much longer. Then finally the email arrives saying i can purchase a vampire, I was really excited. Originally i was going to post interest here, but i emailed Kipper to also ask about his A500 IDE interfaces. Brian got back to me and said if i wanted to say informed about the Vampires, then subscribing to the mailing list was the best way. SO i went that route instead and didn't hear anything, not a peep. I'm not angry that the price has gone up, because i understand why it had to happen. What has annoyed me and seriously damaged my trust in Amibay is that I feel lied to.
Signing up to the mailing list didn't help me at all, I would have been better off coming on here to check, but I suffer with seriously bad joint pain, I dont always feel like being online or like doing much reading. When I subscribed to the list, to me that was like shaking on the deal and agreeing to buy when the product was ready. Changing the price without even a word via their own mailing list, well thats just bad business and will erode customer confidence. True anyone who declares interest doesn't have to buy, if they decide the price is too much, but i think like a lot of people who declared interest a while before it was hiked up, now feel rubbed up the wrong way. I've been telling my mates that I'm on the waiting list for a Vampire for months, only to find out last week that I've been priced out without even being told. While I understand they are over worked and stressed, it dont believe that an excuse to leave people in the dark and ultimately disappointed after months of waiting.
Lucky for me that my story has a happy ending, as a friend who has a Vampire card has decided he doesn't have time to use it, so he's offered it me after hearing about the fiasco I've had trying to get one.
£250 for a speed increase like that is still a bargain. I'm in the queue (back of the line I think), but happy to wait as long as it takes.
Thanks Viper team :) You're helped re-invigorate the Amiga Scene and we all owe you a debt of gratitude.
To those who can afford one it certainly is, but a lot of people dont have £250 to spare on a hobby. Which is probably why so many are upset and angry at having been priced out after wasted months believing they would soon get their hands on a new card for their Amiga. Its a pretty crappy feeling made worse by the fact that nobody replies to your emails.
But with every cloud comes a silver lining and there is still Jens line of ACA cards, I dont know if he's currently offering any for the A600 but Amigakit are currently offering the ACA1233n at £149 for the A1200. While not as blistering fast as the Vampire, it will run the majority of Amiga software from the get go.
Its certainly a promising sight when Amiga users have the choice of not just one, but two different brands of new expansion card :)
I recieved mine during this week! It has been a long way since the pre-order but definitely worth it.
To all the lucky owners, I have a question: the card works perfectly.... as long as I push it hard to the CPU, otherwise it pops up. Even using the supports with the screws in order to keep it in place, it pops out a bit and the Amiga won't boot up (green screen).
My motherboard revision is 1.3 and it looks like it needs some strenght in order to hold the card. Any ideas?
