@gump, also nice program, thanks
Zipped KICK 40063 uploaded to the FTP (CRC-32 matches perfectly)
Craig
@CraigsBar, why would you zip the rom file (creating a bigger file) and use a different naming convention?
Kipper2k instructions are different...
Zipped to allow the crc-32 to be confirmed easily on a Mac :) and only as few k bigger

No problem for me, I was just wondering :-)
So what's the situation with the next lot of these? I assume those pre order guys are enjoying it?
I know it was mentioned above about sale through verified Amiga retailers... I can't seem to see who that would be or what price though? (Sorry, it's a lot of thread to trawl through!)
Thanks :)

Thanks.
I confess I had assumed these were gone given the multiple "pre orders are finished" posts, and I had (wrongly) assumed Kipper's were still indicated as the higher price "pre orders" on the first post!
Maybe this could be clarified in post 1 at the bottom?
KS3.1 verified and deposited onto the ftp server today.
Rom with fc24ae0d checksum uploaded :)
ROM uploaded!
Kick ROM uploaded.
I used TotalCommander for the CRC & MD5 checksums. Just look under Files-Create Checksums. (Easy peasy :-))
Kickstart 3.1 uploaded, many thx for giving us this opportunity :) :D
One question: I bought two of the vampire cards. Its okay when you are going to flash my kick ROM image to both of the cards?
@embedder yes it is ok.
I am not clued up on this FTP thingy how do I upload ?, I don't understand how to do it lol
Me neither? I can upload to the FTP. I know how to check the CRC-32 number... but I don't know what rom to upload...is it the 3.1 rom for an A1200? Do I attach a text file with the CRC-32 info with it? Some, simple, advice regarding this would be helpful.
You need the kickstart 3.1 512kb from a A600 (or 500/2000) or from cloantos cd.
You can grab it with kick2f from aminet.
It will print the crc number.
You only need to upload the 512kb kickstart with matching number. You have a link with instructions on the first page.
Download an ftp client for your computer.
I used amitradecenter in my A600 :)
Login as anonymous. This is many times an option to check as anonymous. Then connect and upload
Trydowave. This answer is for all amibayers.
Thats why i explained things you allready know :)
I have to go the CD route as my A600 currently wont boot. I have brand new KS3.1 roms installed from Amigakit.
Im looking in my Cloantos Cd now and I can only see 3.1 KS roms for the A1200, A500, A3000, A4000 and CD32. Which one shall I pick?
I know how to do the FTP stuff.
Cheers

This is the FTP that I use supaduper... https://filezilla-project.org/
Once installed put this into Host: 174.5.66.205
Leave username and pass blank
type 21 in port
Then connect.
Hope this helps.
That one: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/getcrc/fc24ae0d.html (or, most likely, any A600 ROM from that page: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/ )
I don't really understand where the whole confusion comes from: just look on the files you legally own and find the one with the appropriate checksum. It does not matter if it was provided as rom for A600, as file for Amiga Forever Plus or just pulled from ROMs found in the dump somewhere. If SHA1 checksum matches the required one - then it's the file you need (CRC32 and other "small" checksums could be forged, SHA1 can not: that's the difference between normal checksum and cryptochecksum).
Khimru... you're making the assumption that I know what you're going on about. For example... this line:
"That one: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/getcrc/fc24ae0d.html (or, most likely, any A600 ROM from that page: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/ )"... What does all this mean!
How.. do I look at the files that I legally own!? Once I do that please tell me how to save it, what to save it as. (I know how to up load it).
In other words.. I simply asking for a step by step guide for all us Amiga users who were just gamers back in the day? Where's the confusion regarding that question?
...supaduper didn't know what FTP was... so I guided him to an FTP program.. told him where to enter the details etc. problem solved (I hope).
Also, another question: perhaps it'll be easier to just ship Vampire V2 as a package with physical ROM and matching firmware? I, for one, would like to upgrade my A600 to Cloanto's Kickstart ROM 3.X (available here, for example). This is basically Kickstart 3.1 with just enough upgrades to make large HDDs bootable. Official licensed product. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. This will be complete legal matching set of ROMs and Vampire V2 to install into any Amiga 600. Since this whole "dump, ship, check, verify and reverify" looks like a lot of pointless activity which still wouldn't make my 120GB SSD bootable :(.
I would gladly pay these 20€ or 25€ to avoid all the hassle if it'll give me the ability to use large HDDs/SSDs as a bonus .
Could someone please link me to a Windows program that I can use to verify the checksum?
There are bazillion programs which could calculate checksums, but if it's just one file then you could just check your file here.
2 x ROMs images x 2 Vampire boards uploaded!
majsta, my friend djdkdance is missing from your preorder list
...I still don't know how to do this. Anyone?
Hello Majsta it's strange my name isn't in the pre order list.

I send you by mp my paypal user address for my payment confirmation.
If you got a kickstart files on cloanto cd. Just check one of them a500, a2000 or a600 rom file.
If you find the right checksum on one of those.
Check them with a software.
You have plenty of answers to that.
When you find the right rom file
Rename it to trydowave_kickstart3.1.bin then just upload it. They will put your file in a valid or a non valud folder. Just login in and se if it is in the valid folder later
Hi. On the Cloanto Cd my 3.1 ks A500 file looks like this...
[001/001] C:\Users\Tony Win7\Desktop\trydowave_kickstart3.1.bin.rom
Size: 524,299
CRC-32: 0C728EF9
MD-5: dc3f5e4698936da34186d596c53681ab
-------------------- FILE SIGNATURE COMPLETE --------------------
I have 3.1 for A1200, A3000, A4000 and CD32.
Theres nothing for the A2000 or A600.
Please understand...
Kickstart 500/600/2000 is the very same kickstart
Its for the 16 bits amigas.
A12000 kickstart will do failure on kickstart becouse of 32bit amiga. 1200 etc is split on 2 16 bits roms. Thats why 2 roms chips.
Just checksum the file you beleave in. Regardless if The name is a2000 or 500 or 300 or whatever :)
Just check the checksum. Rename and upload ! :)
That's pretty strange file, if you'll ask me. Why is it 524,299 bytes in size? Proper Kickstart for Amiga could be 256KiB = 218 = 262'144 bytes, 512KiB = 219 = 524'288 bytes, 1MiB = 220 = 1'048'576 bytes, or 2MiB = 221 = 2'097'152 bytes as explained here. Your file looks 11 bytes too long thus of course checksum will not match...
Gump: Just checksum the file I believe in? That's a bit vague?
I cant be bothered to type out all the roms I have on the cd so here's a screen grab.
http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/a...Untitled-1.jpg
I used the tool gfsw.exe and dragged the rom files into it to get the information as suggested.
Cheers
Checked with crc32 and uploaded tonight, thanks for the service!
PS: me stupid and not sent as binary first (did it old school comandline), so.... please use the _bin_ one
--w------- 1 ftp ftp 524288 Dec 26 17:20 weehawk_bin_kickstart3.1.bin
--w------- 1 ftp ftp 528448 Dec 26 17:14 weehawk_kickstart3.1.bin
I have the Cloanto Amiga Forever 2014 Plus Edition. I WinRar'd the entire rom folder and non of the CRC values match that posted by kipper2k.
The following file should be the correct one: amiga-os-310-a500.rom, but the checksum does not match
Size: 524,299
CRC-32: E4D58065
MD-5: c3e114cd3b513dc0377a4f5d149e2dd9
-------------------- FILE SIGNATURE COMPLETE --------------------
I don't have an A600 (yet) to extract the ROM from, so not sure how to proceed.
It might not be the easiest but this should work....
Set up winuae to boot a 600 from that ROM. Once this is confirmed as working boot one of the tools listed above in the emulated a600 and dump the rom. Thus should then strip out the extra 11 bytes and make sure that checksum matches.
I believe the Cloanto Amiga Forever kickstarts are encrypted and the low and high bytes might be swapped.
CraigsBar instructions should do the trick.
Yeah. I totaly forgot. All or some of the cd files are probably swapped files or they wont work in x86 cpu:s in winuae etc.
It might work to byteswap them.
I do not have any cloanto cd. I would have checked to help you all if i had any cloanto cd :/
Kickstart ROM with correct checksum uploaded to FTP as requested. Many thanks.
At least I know now that my confusion was warranted. What a friggin palaver!
So... this is what im going to do... im going to boot winuae. load up the A600 config and change its kickstart to the 3.1 A500 KS from the cloanto cd. shove grabkick onto it and create an image... then use the tool in windows to read the info...
Here as follows:
Files to signature: 1.
--------------------
[001/001] C:\Users\Tony Win7\Desktop\kick40063
Size: 524,288
CRC-32: FC24AE0D
MD-5: e40a5dfb3d017ba8779faba30cbd1c8e
-------------------- FILE SIGNATURE COMPLETE --------------------
If this checks out im going to upload this image (under my amibay name) up to the FTP.
Edit.. uploaded and awaiting confirmation.
uploaded under my amibay name, will check every so often to see if it's moved to the valid folder and that way I know I did it right.
First off Big thanks to` trydowave` for helping me sort this`Palaver` out I agree with his sentiments.
I have now uploaded: supaduper_kickstart3.1.bin ROM with correct CRC :)
@trydowave
Excellent that you sorted it out :)
I didnt mean to be rude. If i was. I apollogise.
I totaly forgot that rom files for emulators etc often are byteswaped, encrypted etc :)
Tried to upload my Kickstart image but get the following error messages trying to upload:

Don't worry, you weren't being rude mate. Im just glad it's finally got sorted out...
Ill be even more glad when our Vampires arrive :)
Happy New year everyone
Worked it out using another ftp client. So, never mind...
Now waiting for confirmation...
During holidays I won't have access to my A600, is it any problem if I send the kickstart about 7th January?
Same here... Will not be able to send before 15th of January... But I don't mind waiting to receive Vampire II a bit later...
kickstart image uploaded
