i am jealous....I am still waiting for an email from Kipper :)
Don't worry. I think I'm the last of the last of the loooooooooooooooooooong list :(
tested and working great , very fast.
however the ACT red LED stays on when its warm (after using it) and it boots in to 68000 mode but when its cold the ACT light flashes once and it boots in to 68040 mode with ram and flies along.
maybe a fan would help.
trying it now.
great card :-)
This seems to be precisely the classical cpu socket connection issue, heat in the plcc socket reveals it. Follow the polish instructions from the thread first post. If you want to avoid of the falling on 68000 mode, remove your kickstart rom. It will not remove bad plcc socket connection issue, but it prevents Amiga to boot if vampire is popped off.
@mjnurney
Yes you need to remove kick. Polishing is done already by me so no need to do it. Just secure board properly.
Hi,
i see on the first post there are many old preorders not yet supplied. Just as a matter of curiosity: Is there any information available where on the list, or at which point of ordering time the delivery list is at this moment?
Edit: Sorry i just read little bit more and it seems the waiting time was around three months. :)
So happy. My Vampire2 has turned out this morning in the mail... In Australia! :) Now need to play with it...
Declaring interest in one piece.
Maybe read the pretty hard to miss first line of the first post.... :)
I know this is Majesta's thread but I thought I'd update my "order" from kipper
Emailed 18th january
got reply back 18th March (paid 19th March)
delivery confirmation today (26th may) and will be here next week, so whole process is about 6momths
so anyone that wants one I suggest starting the process sooner rather than later
But anyway really nice work from all the team members that have made this board, it's really great to still see things being developed for this aging platform
Yeah smart decision, it took me 5 or so years to find working hardware model to prove concept, never lost interest...
No, no need to apologies. I know that is frustrating what is going on and to watch all of those videos with such long waiting time to get own board. Point is no one should give up easily. And trust me, you will sell the card only if you never power it on. Once you start using it after 15 minutes you will just say I ll never sell it.
waiting in a queue is not such a big deal...
the problem is, when you don't even get a reply from a seller and you have no idea if you are on the list or not!!!
@RighteousMan5 if you send a mail then you are on the some list and eventually someone from the team will contact you.
I wrote Two mails to kipper2k, on 1.3.2016 and 7.3.2016 till now I have no any answer !

You are right,
"" when you don't even get a reply from a seller and you have no idea if you are on the list or not!!!""
And what makes you think he will read this and respond? There are threads on EAB that he updates regulary. You all will have better chance there.
This is no kippers thread. It is like somebody would moan about somebody else sale in your sale thread. It would not be acceptable then, would it?
Kipper2k is really busy, you can try to ping him on the apollo core IRC.
Oh. I am sorry. Lets blame producers now.
This excuse makes no sense ...
Correct !
And there is even more. click the header to get frontpage...
Before I go spending even more money, can anyone confirm if the subway USB controller in conjunction with a 604n will work with a vampire as a quick way to add a slim external CDROM drive?
http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=137
Notice that the product you are linking to is not being sold any longer (hasn't been for many years). RapidRoad is the replacement. I tried to connect an external optical drive to my RR but it would reset when it tried to spin up as there was not enough power available from the USB port so this is something that could be an issue. With the Subway, this can be dangerous since the USB current passes through the Subway and many people have burned their controller this way.
If you can find a drive which does not use power from the USB port, then it should work. I can see that Poseidon did seem to recognize my drive as an optical drive.
It will certainly work if you take care of the extra voltage that will be needed to power an external CD-ROM device, and a CD filesystem on the Amiga.
Thanks... Rapid road clockport for next month then.
Just a little early evening Amiga PRON for people :-)

Drool! nice looking bit of kit - still waiting for confirmation from Kipper2k on the Vampire 2 and also 8MB/CF board for Amiga 2000.
My vampire arrived this morning many thanks @majsta I quickly installed and tested it this morning. All looks good, 128mb fastram and wb 3.1 flies along ;)
I now have just over a month to get the machine ready for the Amiga Ireland event below where it will be available for demo, or just for a game of duke nukem 3d ;)

Will let you know how the install of os3.9 etc goes.
Edit:
OK please forgive me, I am a relative Amiga newbie! I am having difficulty finding details on getting classicwb 3.9 installed and working on the vampire equipped 600. My DOM boots fine on both the a600 and under winuae with 3.9 bb2 (no ROM update) but once I then apply Classic WB 3.9 it refuses to boot on the a600, the DOM still boots fine on winuae.
I have turned off as much of the additions as possible, and on the last attempt use only 16 colours. But it still won't boot on the a600 - just a black screen. Any ideas?
I haven't used those WB packs before--does it run SetPatch in your startup-sequence and reboot the system with the ROM update? If so, it sounds like the updated scsi.device isn't playing well with your DOM.
I didn't follow the thread for months, uploaded the kickstart just now.
Majesta, please see pm, I may have misunderstood posting.
got it to work somehow from the amiga forever CD.. took me a while but i got there

I saw on kipper2k's last update on his site mentioned people uploading Kickstart images. I know that the pre-orders here had to upload their Kickstart ROM. Should people buying from kipper2k's site upload theirs also following the instructions here or some other procedure?
I know that he's busy building boards and not emailing people until he's nearly ready to ship. If the image is required for purchases from his site and I can do it to stay ahead of the process to not slow him down, I'd like to.
I'm late to the Vampire hype, just got an A600 and installed a CF HDD.
I emailed Kipper2k a couple of weeks ago hoping to order a Vampire600, but not hear from him yet. I'm sure he's super busy especially if he's designing A500 version :D
Just hoping I'm not too late to get one. There no chance it's getting discontinued yet is there?
Just received mine from majsta today! Many thanks. Yet to test it but looks like the success rate is almost 100% :)
Klipper is building the majority of the v600 boards, but Majsta is main designer of the A500 board currently in development (and the other versions too).
You need to understand that the number of orders for the v600 by far exceeded expectations so kipper2k has a pretty substantial back-log he's trying to take care of.
There is no assembly line, if you order now you must be prepared to wait months before it's your turn.
For the A500 and A1200 versions I expect the boards to be much more assembled from the supplier or we will be looking at reeeeeeally long waiting times for them. And frankly, Majsta and Kipper shouldn't have to spend all their free time at soldering boards.
But in any case, those of you who are late to the party and didn't yet order the v600 version, you should know the 500 version will soon be finished and further down the road, we will see a 1200 version.
With an adapter , the A500 version should also work in A2000 making those old doorstops useful again ;-)

What happened with the remaining pre-orders? I guess Majsta is delivering them at his own pace. I have no hurry, but I wanted a status update.
