The concept of pre-orders is that they are placed before the design is finished. Now that the V600-2 is finished and is in production (although slow), it is not possible to place any more pre-orders. As mentioned 100 times in the thread, go to Kipper2k if you want one.
Hello all,
I just registered this forum to claim some information about vampire II a600/a500/a1200.
Is there a new batch planned soon to order A500/A600 models?
As I have a slow A600 I would like to give him a second life!
I hope new batch of vampire II will ship soon !
Thanks for the development, this is a great news for Amiga fans
edit: Kipper2k.com is currently down, so what is the process to order a vampire board?
Maybe this question was already asked somewhere in these 116 pages, however, what are the rules when a card is sent to someone on the preorder list? A lot of cards were sent out to people that ordered after me. I uploaded the kickstart and it seems to be fine. Did I miss something?
Ok again quick info, pick and place machine speed ed things up a lot but I was at holiday. I m trying to clear all pre orders fastest that is possible so again have patience. This is not the only pre-order list and we have about 800 cards left to solder, yes you read it right. This pre-order list have highest priority. Also some cards reported non working and each time when people get back them to me I put them into my machine and they work perfectly so I m not sure how people use this card. Next time I ll save video where I m unpacking "non working card" and plugging it into my Amiga. Right now I m doing bottom side of the boards, today did 13 of them, tomorrow I ll continue and after I do about 30 of them I ll go to top side and then to adding connectors, sockets etc and then testings. So like you can see I m not doing everything on one card and then go to next one. It is done in stages. Also from now on everyone will receive cards with much better PLCC sockets and those don't need sanding or anything like that, they fits perfectly. Also I have send number of PM here to the users who were next in line to confirm their address, lot of them didn't replied yet so I moved on to the next in line. Don't be mad if someone got the card before you because there was reason to do that. At least I keep all publicly so everyone can see what and when is something going on.
Brilliant news for all. I hope you enjoyed your holiday. I suspect once the vampire 500 and 1200 are available you won't have time for another one ;)
can I put my name down for a vampire 1200 already ;) [joking]
Thank you for keeping us informed Majsta - much appreciated.

Just too let you know I have sent you a email asking for one of these card but not had anything back too say you had the email is this normal
@scoobyatgb, you don't appear on the list, pre-orders here closed here a while back, read the first post... you need to contact Kipper
Thanks for the update Majsta. Any idea how kipper2k is coming along with the ones that he's building for sale from his site?
We're looking for an update, not his email address. :-P
And he doesn't answer his email anyway. That's why I was hoping that Majsta could give us an update since their partners of sorts on the Vampire project.
How to get on the list? I'm interested.
So,does soldering machine increase the speed of production or what?
Btw,you are busy man,I must admit, regarding the video!
It's all really great and good for us but I'am starting slowly to not understand all this waste of time.
Just to say, an ACA1221 cost 80€ for the end user and Jens is not building them in his home and is also not loosing money selling them..... Also with the optionals things on the card that have to be unlock with more money, the card would not be sooooo expensive.
The ACA card does not looked really more complicated to build than the Vampire and even if it is, it could still cost the double to produce it.
This show that it's possible to let build such cards from a specialised society to an attractive price, and delay is probably better than a "I do all myself" and the quality of your life will be also better. Last point is important if you want to have a long healthy life ! With the number of cards already sold and the upcoming numbers of V500 cards, should be no problem to do the way icomp is doing. I mean let produce the cards industrially (and not about using this optional unlock feature system that is a nonsense, I do not want to pay a part of people aca cards that keep them cards with the minimum feature when I unlock my. But this is another subject that has nothing to do with Vampire card).
I do not understand anymore but maybe I am totally wrong on the subject....
Anyway, long life to the vampire, best accelerator we have until now.
Wow, that is some work. I hope you be careful with that soldering paste. It is not very healthy. If you are doing this all day you may poison yourself. Be careful ok?
At that pace you'll probably be busy forever filling all the orders. Have you talked to Gideon (of 1541 Ultimate fame)? He has its boards produced at very reasonable prices. Leaves more time for less hazardous work.
Good luck and take care of yourself while doing this!
@gseb we can do it by professional manufacturer and from us there will be more products done like that, much better than this one. That will increase the price of final product a lot and then everyone will say that my approach was good. Do you know what is the price of FPGA we are using and that I have managed to keep prices low by pure luck but now is not the time to talk about that. Don't you think that in past few years I didn't tried all options. In other words if amiga community want's V600 fast, in designed box, manual and everything looking perfectly then we are talking about 300-400Eur per card. I didn't wanted that to happen and that's why I m wasting my time on this. From all of this I have earned to buy oscilloscope, again needed for this project. Few days ago on e-bay V600 went for 800USD(if I m informed right). So if we want to keep prices low I must suffer. For other future project this will not be the case because I have lot of things to pay. I have no problems to see some shop manufacture cards but that must be licensed properly and no one seems to take this serious enough. Eventually complete core will be sold to some company and if we want to see that as success anything that has something to do with the core needs to be licensed. Anyway lot of things will change but no one should complain when that happen.
300 to 400 per card is still cheap for a card that makes an 060 look slow :)
Look what 040 and 060 cards that are 20plus years old are selling for.
Put it this way. When the 1200 vampire comes along I don't think manual making will be an option for your own sanity. I'll gladly stump up 400+ for that if that is what it takes ;)
I don't mind waiting (I am waiting for the A500 and A1200 versions personally) but I do understand people being anxious / excited for this product. Keep up the good work Majsta!
@Majsta: I'm lucky since I have my A600 Vampire 2. I had to change the socket by an another. Now the board stays plugged.
The A1200 version of the Vampire is interesting, the A500 also, Okay... but for me the most interesting Vampire accelerator would
be for the A4000. Today, it's a quite hard to find a A3640, and when we find one, the price is just crazy...
Don't you plan an A4000 version of the Vampire? No? If yes, I take three! :-)
@tuxbar81
here more information about version A4000

Recently got a few mails with a request to update my personal info (in regards to the vampire) - I have done this now, but does this mean that it's "ordered/Booked" ? (and will get info for payment etc later), or do I have to go to the site again to "order"?.
Any info appreciated.....:)
Thanks for the link. Interesting.
I don't need an accelerator board with video output. A simple Vampire with memory and FPU and eventually SD-Card would be perfect...
Okay, regarding the number of A4000, indeed, it's really less than the A500. But, I'm not okay when I read into this link that generally, today, the A4000 are loaded with powerful accelerator board, graphic card, network, etc...
I have one A4000 with an A3640. One motherboard with an A3630 and an another motherboard which crying for an accelerator board. I'm sure that a lot of A4000's owners are in the same situation as mine and would be interested for a modern and powerful board.
@majsta, I hope it is not suffering to you and you get some satisfaction from it. Or get very rich for all your troubles.
What my colleague Gideon does is getting the components put up by a manufacturer. Then programming and testing/rework is done at home. So the dirty work is done elsewhere. Surely the boards will be a bit more expensive. But you no longer suffer and stay healthy. Take care man. Don't suffer. You must have fun with this too.

My Vampire arrived today! Thanks Majsta!
First test: need to push on the connector to get the beast going. I will try to get it more tight on the 68000.
Hello!
I'm interested to buy one.
How to proceed today? I need to contact Kipper2k directly by e-mail?
And how about the payment?
Sorry but i'm not the best in english.:(
Ok thank you cthulhu.
I've send him an email 2 days ago but no response.
I hope he'll contact me soon.
As you can't rely on an email reaching its destination, the only way of knowing for sure that it's been received is to get a response. It would be frustrating to be 5 months down the road and find your original email hadn't made it. Hopefully my order has been received :)
I also got an unpersonalized email two weeks ago (am waiting for 5 months now also), but since then nothing yet...
I emailed Kipper a week or so back asking about how I go about registering/buying and paying for a Vampire for my A600 and within a day or so received an email from no-reply@apollo-accelerators.com with a subject of 'Your Vampire Interest - We need you details'. So I followed the link and supplied my name/email/address, so hopefully I'm in the queue. If you are still waiting to hear back you may not have received this email as they may have already supplied your details in the email?
I want to say once more, please ppl don't send me PM to put you on the list, there is no way I can add someone and offering more money won't help also. Again, I don't have anything to do with kippper2k list and I don't have any kind of influence to it. I can't contact him for you or ask him to send you card faster. Don't send me messages that he didn't reply to you. I will probably help him later to clear few more lists but my priority is to clear this one first. I don't care that you are waiting for his reply for over month I have here people patiently waiting for an year not disturbing me in my work. I don't want to be rude or anything but this project took every minute of our lives so if we can work so much you can wait for his mail as long as it take. We have over 800 people now on several waiting lists. Either that or go and buy commercial products someone else made and be happy :)
