Steve,
You must have a very understanding wife, alot of cash and alot of time - I'm in constant awe of your collections and setups and have been enjoying your many posts, photos and projects since I joined AmiBay - would love to know your secret.....:p
Hi!
Glad you've enjoyed the posts, it makes it all worth while when you get this sort of feedback :thumbsup:
Truth is the Wife 'tolerates' it :shhh:
When I first got into Amiga's I sold all my retr0 gaming stuff to fund it and since then I've kind of been trading up so the monthly outlay hasn't been too bad!
As you probably guessed I don't get out too much with the 3Dimensional people and I don't smoke/gamble/etc so this is my main hobby.
Anyway I hope to keep you all included in my Amiga journey although its going to slow down a lot now unless I find a job soon! :coffee:
And besides, some might say I have enough :thumbsup:
Steve.
@Steve
Hi my friend :)
I have IDE-SCSI Bridges in all my setups and works great with one exception.Quote:
I've used it before with CF cards via Blizzard PPC SCSI so it should work for you but IIRC one CF adapter didn't work so I had to try another.
Under OS 4.x... CF-IDE Adapter+IDE-SCSI cannot works fine on my A4K's PPC...
As you know, I have....
SCSI ID1 => CF's to boot with different 3.x
SCSI ID2 => HDD to Boot under 4.0 (still fighting with 4.1 Classic and my FastATA MK-V :()
Not tested my new BPPC 603+ but I think must be the same.....
Best wishes
Steve you can only use one at a time!
@MerlinKV, thanks for the info my friend. Yeah it sux about OS4.1 compatibility - I've bought 4 un-supported PCI cards now and given up!
I have a Dual boot system working with OS3.9 on BPPC SCSI and OS4.1 on Native IDE, I kept my Voodoo 3 as the shared card for both :dry:
@Skellionz
I have three letters for you:
LAN :D
GByte LAN...... :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:Quote:
@Skellionz
I have three letters for you:
LAN :-D
Six computers, 5 File Servers, 3 Consoles, ....... at the same time.... :D
And as all people here... a lot of years and money to collect all....... :( :)
Just a very little update, I got some new toys this week that I have been playing with, useful to all my USB setups :)
I got an ICY Box external HDD enclosure which has a nice new 20gb ATA HDD inside, of course its also perfect for prepping up disks in WinUAE.
I've set this one up with a couple of SFS partitions to share between my Amiga's, on my Deneb its pulling 5.7mb/sec which I thought was pretty impressive :cool:
In the pics below its on the Thylacine in this A4000 so only USB1.1, I got a little Powered USB1.1 Hub of eBay for peanuts and its working a treat plus ideal as the Thylacine only has 1 USB port...
At some point I'd like a Deneb for this A4000 too :D

Awesome setupz. I envy with pride :D
Time to keep only da towerz and donate zee Desktop to da Marios
Sorry my friend but this is my Babe :p
Thanks for the kind words as always, I think once I have funds for another Deneb this A4000 will be complete :o
Oh and Zetr0 said he will help me with a tri-colour LED so it will be Red for SCSI and Yellow for IDE activity :bowdown:
Hope to share some pics after we make this Mod :thumbsup:
Awesome idea :D Share da pr0n immediately \o/
Very nice job on the A4000D. :) Looks great!
Heather
Hi!
I got a nice addition to this project to share with ya'll!
Its a CDRW with built in USB Card reader :)
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMAG0081.jpg
Its quite a large unit, but I managed to fit it inside by raising the HDD to the upper part of the bracket (else I couldn't push the drive all the way into the bay)
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMAG0079.jpg
As you can see, still some room for the 060 to breath :D
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMAG0080.jpg
The USB connector fits a 5pin header and will be ideal if I get a Deneb for this machine, for now I used a converter to standard USB - A connector and ran the cable outside to my Hub as the Thylacine has no internal headers.

And all back together and working :)

I'm really pleased with this unit, its an ideal solution for this setup :thumbsup:
Steve.
Cool Steve, where did you get it :thumbsup:
Hey peeps,
Got some updates to this project! Been having a bit of a switch around since getting the A4000T (sadly the Elbox Tower has to go) so using some of the bits here...
First change is I swapped out the PicassoIV for my CV64/3D, since I have a PicassoIV in my A4000T I decided to take a different route with this project for now, of course if I ever find a CVPPC for the Tower the Picasso might find its way back here :whistle:
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1960.jpg
And reinstall my Toccata and DenebUSB :cool:
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1961.jpg
Since I have lots of Ram in the A4000T I decided to use the Fastlane Z3 in this project, and since this is Buster 9 I'm not limited to 1 DMA master I can have the Fastlane Z3 and Deneb running in DMA mode!
Also happy to see no conflict with the CSMkII/SCSI or CV64/3D which can be a known issue in this configuration!

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1963.jpg
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1975.jpg
I also decided to switch the CDROM for a shorter DVD drive and also replaced the tall HD Floppy with a new FDD and USB Reader, plus custom adapters via USB2 Hub going into the Deneb.

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1968.jpg
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1969.jpg
As you can see everything is working! (Not expected on the first attempt but it did!)

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1971.jpg
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1974.jpg
Only thing left to do is find a new home for the SCSI-IDE bridge :Doh:
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_1970.jpg
Off to work on the A4000T now :coffee:
You have to much spare time and money =)
