Agnus 8375 chips Agnus (1MB) (318069-16) new

For sale are Agnus 8375 (1MB) chips, the part number is 318069-16 and it's brand new and unused - apart from testing the chip. Tested in A500 Rev 6a.

This is the successor of the 8372 FAT Agnus, whereas the PAL and NTSC chips are separated to different distinct revisions. In my opinion they are more reliable and run cooler. For some earlier A2000 motherboards some simple rework is needed though to make it work due to the addition of the VBB line. More details here. Interestingly WhichAmiga reports the chip as 8372b 2MB Agnus (see below).

These are original C= parts. Some chips might have very small blemishes like scuff marks due to shelf wear.

Yes they do, but according to the official service note, you might need to rework your motheboard. Please check the link in the description above.

perfect, my a2000 rev 6.4 mount agnus-16 but have some problem with screen resolution, i want change the agnus.

Hi mbob, I would say no, as this is the exact Agnus revision where the PAL and NTSC chips were separated, so for NTSC you'd need 318069-17

There is no install guide as such. If you have an old chip installed then obviously you need to remove that first. For this you'll need a PLCC chip extractor tool. They can be had on Ebay for example for EUR 5. The new chip snaps into the Agnus socket - make sure PIN1 marking on the motherboard aligns correctly with PIN1 (marked with a dot) on the chip. Then press the whole chip straight down (don't press one side only).

Might be useful to ask a friend who has done this before to help. The old chip is sometimes difficult to remove. Other than this nothing else is required in terms of installation.
