Hi!
I wonder what this is, how much RAM there is on this, and if it can be expanded to more?

This is an 1MB Chip RAM expansion, without RTC (real time clock) and without the possibility to expand.
yep. 8x256 x4 simms = 1mb
Hm, but there is a battery underneath the card. I'd think that is for the clock?
So no expansion possibility?
Either way thanks for the replies!
well, those chips are marked 4256 which are normally 256,000x4 bit = 128,000 Bytes (128k) per chip = 1MB per simm , and are non-parity
the back one however has 1256s (256,000 x 1 bit), which would be 256k total
It looks like a Marpet MP602A or Marpet MP604A
The MP604A has an optional battery backed-up clock module. Can you show a picture
of the back, please?
Ah, OK. So even if I could fit more RAM, A600 couldn't use it since that board is all for Chip ram, which is never more than 2 MB, I take it.Quote:
No. Cause its chipram. Only 2MB are possible in A600.
Looks like a battery there:

the board has 1mb of ram, system see's 2 mb because the motherboard has 1mb for total of 2mb.
if you want to see it in workbench open shell or cli and type, avail, it will show how much ram is in the system.
