A4000 Desktop Bits / Parts

yep.... I have searched high and low, and I cannot find the following items needed for my A4000D - it is quite likely the A4000D didn;t have these when I got the unit.

so I need

A busboard mounting bracket: This runs the width of the chassis and holds the Z3 daughterboard in place

A Harddisk Mounting bracket that nestles between the PSU and the BusBoard mounting brackt.

If any kind sould has these and would like to part with them some cash or have an idea of what miggy bits they might be after then please let me know =)

I'll check with Ed tomorrow and see if he has any lying around, I'm sure he would just give them to you if he has them as long as you cover the shipping. I will find out and let you know.

I haven't got the parts, but i'm guessing you'll also need the insulator sheet that fits between the hdd mounting bracket and busboard also?

Mr Zee you are welcome to borrow the HDD bracket I removed from my A4k, may need it back some day though if I go the SCSI HDD route, but for now I'm running CF-IDE and all is well :)

I was thinking that too tbh, The HD plate is just a bent piece of metal with some holes init.

Zeets is a bit of a Mech Wizard, I'm sure he could handle that bit easily

I talked to Ed. He doesn't have any spares of those parts any more. He used to have a half dozen of each of those parts, but he gave them all away a long time ago, apparently. Sorry. I was hoping otherwise, but I was not as luck today as I have been in the past at finding things.

It may be worth contacting JACK98 as his A4000 died a death not long ago.
Whether he still has it knocking about, I don't know, but it might be worth asking him.

RE Hard Drive brackets:

Pop into B&Q & grab some Aluminium sheet. Easy to cut, bend & drill. You can use Shim cardstock to insulate the sides of the drives & bracket from the back of the ZORRO board. ;)
