Why? Is there something wrong with it?
I did not get a copy of the adapter from Ed as I have been sick. It appears I have a case of flu.... In the middle of the Summer. Yay  I will get the design and I will copy it out and see if I cannot make a file to upload here in the photo booth so anyone that wants to make an adapter can.
Got a question for RKauer. The two chips that are the kickstart roms, are they located kinda underneath the Floppy drive? There are two chips plugged into this board with a sticker on them labeled 1.1. Could these be Kickstart 1.1 ROMS? Just curious, if you want me to take a picture I can.
Those are just probably updated boot roms, A1000's converted to use a kick will have 4 eproms installed, if my memory is still good you'll notice two empty spots for eproms near those two. They'll be populated as well with 27512's, another common hack from that era was to piggyback the rams onboard and make the A1000 have 1mb of ram 512k chip and 512k bogo..
@Brian: I hope this isn't considered a thread hijack, but if you really wanna have a "taste of things to come", you can use a regular RCA cable hooked to your A1000's composite video out, and connect it to your telly just like you would do with a traditional vcr. Dunno about the PAL machines, but having NTSC A1000's i know it's a color signal. Plus you can connect the audio out with a pair of additional rca cables to your hi-fi and enjoy the start-up sound that only the A1000 does! :-)
Hope you have fun with your first miggy
Money for #3 sent :-)
Payment received for the #3 machine. I hope to get her shipped today, but I cannot guarantee it will because I am still sick. @response to my question - I have taken a look at the board and there are no empty sockets on the board. I do see a spot where sockets could be on the silkscreen, but there is nothing there, so I don't know where 4 eeprom chips could go. But thank you for telling me about it. I don't really know that much about the A1000.
That would probably be it, you'll see the empty pads lined up with the other eprom sockets. If a kickstart was installed, there would be sockets and eproms installed in those 2 extra spots (and a couple little hacks on the mainboard to fix some adressing)
Most any Kickstart ROM adapter/hack would involve an extra board (a bit like a daughterboard only smaller), so you would be searching for a small pcb. Unless someone has gone through the hassle of soldering ROMs directly onboard. :)
@Brian: What sort of a video adapter would you need? Doesn't your tv have regular Video-in? If you were in Europe i'd say maybe you had scart, but being in the US most probably your telly has a female Video-in jack already. Thus, a regular rca cable will do. Don't confuse it with the rgb output your A1000 has!
Here's a diagram i upped at amigahellas a while ago: http://www.amigahellas.gr/uploads/photos/657.jpg
You can see you have 3 options: RGB, TV modulator, and Video out. The 3rd one is the one i'm talking about. ;)
A1000 arrived, Parcel was excellent packed, everything is ok.
Thank you Nathaniel:thumbsup:

Chris :wooha:
Just posting a follow up. RKauer, were you still wanting this A1000 that I pulled items out of to reduce the weight of it for you? Let me know when you have a chance.
Thanks.
Still interested, but with a heavy lack of enough funds ATM. :(
If you don't want to wait feel free to pass to the next in line. :( :( :( :(
No, I will hold on to it for you until you can afford it. I haven't had anyone ask about it, and you are still interested. I will hold it till you can get it. I just thought we could save you some shipping by shipping it and the little adapter together cause it would add almost nothing to the weight and wouldn't raise shipping on the A1000.
