Laptop / Desktop memory - various speeds

I have the following sticks of laptop memory up for grabs.

2 x 128Mb, 144-pin PC-100 - Part No. 60808-2 - £8 plus P&P

2 x 512Mb, PC2700 DDR-333 CL2.5 , Hynix branded - £10 plus P&P (Sold to Dony)

2 x 512Mb, PC5300 DDR2-555-12, Hynix branded - £12 plus P&P

I also have the following desktop memory up for sale.

1 x 512Mb, PC5300 DDR2-667 CL5, Micron branded, £8 plus P&P

Is PC2700 interchangable with PC2100 SoDimm memory in PC2100 SoDimm systems? If so, I'd like to be second in line on the 2 x 512meg if Dony has second thoughts...

It should run but both sticks would only run as fast as the slowest stick if the bios settings are 'auto' (usually default).

If not then it might be an idea to set them to the speed of the slowest stick.

Generally however technicians wouldnt use mis-matched sticks, and i dont have a ton of experience in doing so.

I checked out the laptop specs, its max supported memory amount appears to be 1GB.

if you have bought 2 x 512mb pc2700 id put them together so you're not using mis matched memory. Chances are your current stick will need removing as most lappies only have 2 slots at best in my experience.
It should run fine with the new sticks underclocked at the pc2100 speeds (266mhz as oppossed to the 333mhz pc2700 is), but if you have any problems please post back :)

If you didnt get them then you should ideally buy 2 512MB sticks of pc2100 (DDR 266MHz).

The bios stuff i mentioned you shouldnt need to worry about, most laptops dont let you mess with those settings anyways and will auto configure best capable speeds depending on what it detects.

Oh and you need soDIMMS (smaller laptop ram sticks) not regular DIMMS which are used in desktop machines.
