Can it read CD-R and CD-RW?:)
@xanxi , i recently picked up an a570 and have burnt a few discs to cdr. seems to read them ok.. only tried memorex so far. Will have to try a cdrw.
Quick note about cdtv compatibility. A500 won't run some cdtv stuff.. A500+ runs more than 500. Some things wont run at all..
@bazzaq: even with the volume knob turned fully to the left?
@rkauer
volume knob to the left means a570 is off, to the right is on.
It seems some games require more than 0.5mb chip ram.
e.g. i tried lemmings and xenon2 with it hooked to a500 with 0.5chip/0.5 fast, not working..
hooked to my 500+ with 2mb chip both work.
i found this site http://www.cdtv.org.uk/games.html
which lists a bunch of games as not a570, but lemmings works.. he must have tried them on an a500. And i know sim city works because it came with my a570 back in the early 90's when i bough one originally.
OK Just checked the manual.. it says requirements are 1mb chipram. for some cdtv titles.
It's a bit hit and miss, need to do some more testing.. Just tried lemmings and got no music with kick3.1, switched to 1.3 and got music.:blink:
IIRC, turning the volume knob to the left enables the CDTV emulation, or am I wrong?
volume knob turned left to click is drive disabled.
volume knob turned right to click is enabled, then keep turning for volume for headphones.
when drive is disabled the system cannot see it.
when enabled you put a cd in to boot into cdtv mode, or boot floppy/harddisk for cdrom mode.
