CD32 console

I have a CD32 console that I simply don't have the time or inclination to do anything with at the moment, so I'd rather it went to a loving home.

You get the CD32 console, the UK power pack and the SCART lead. There are no controllers or games with it.

The machine works for the most part, but there are audio issues. It makes sound, but it's very quiet. Probably something on the board will need some attention (probably capacitors, but I don't know for sure)

I'm asking £25 for it, plus Paypal fees (or gift at buyer's discretion) and shipping (I don't imagine that UK shipping will be more than about £5)

Andy...I am interested but my only concern is the power supply. It probably won't work in the US will it? Could you get me shipping costs anyhow? Postal code is 48035.

Having one of these units myself mate, the PSU's are 220-240V 50Hz only.
You do however know that a CD32 only needs +12V & +5V (no -12V as the A1200/A600..etc).
Which means you can easily hook it up to the molex connector on a std ATX PSU...

Google Ian Stedman & you will find full details to do this PSU hack :thumbsup:

@Andy --- What's the Laser unit reading like mate, my CD32's laser is on it's last legs & needs replacing.

As TheCorfiot points out, the PSU is a standard UK 230v model. You'll either need a transformer, or better yet an alternate PSU. (If you don't want the UK PSU or SCART cable, it'll probably help on shipping costs.) -- It's also probably a PAL unit, but if that's not a problem for you, then sure. I'll try and get you a shipping quote for it.

First signs of a failing laser are that the Seek time gets longer & longer, especially from cold and more noticeable using a properly burnt CDR.

Audio disks can stutter or take ages going from track to track especially if you skip from 1st to middle to last track and back....

Andy: Yes I know it is PAL, but so are 90% of the games for it. I always felt that getting an NTSC version would be silly based on that fact. Especially since I can just grab an Indivision for it. But I will pass just because I don't know enough about whether or not a PAL version would do me good in the states. I will do more research and wait until an opportunity arises again.

With a proper RGB monitor or a scandoubler a PAL Amiga will work perfectly in any place of the world.

I live in a pseudo-PAL land (in fact, we have NTSC in disguise!), and having a plethora of Amiga models and regions (PAL, NTSC, PAL-M, European PAL, etc) I can tell you that all work flawlessly with a proper RGB monitor (multi-sync or with the help of the scandoubler).

So go for it! :)
