CLOSED : A1200, 2.1 GB HD - Updated!
Evening all,
Having twice previously tried to sell my Amiga collection on eBay, but falling short of reserve, I've decided to sell all my Amiga stuff as either a whole lot or as individual items. Any reasonable offer will be accepted...
I'm happy to accept offers for any of the following, but if nothing is forthcoming in the next few days, I'll list these on ebay and post the requisite link...
Collection includes:
Hardware:
Commodore Amiga A1200, Rev 1D4 motherboard (owned since new, 1992)
2.1 GB Internal 2.5" HD with Workbench 3.1 and ClassicWB installed (Basic)
Phase 5 Blizzard 1260 w/ 16Mb SIMM
- Includes original driver disks etc... - NOW SOLD
SurfSquirrel PCMCIA SCSI adapter
- Includes original driver disks etc... NOW SOLD
(External SCSI CD-Rom (Not sure how fast).) NOW SOLD
Eyetech MAS MP3 Player
- Includes driver disks, software and instruction manual... NOW SOLD
Original Power Supply
Original Commodore Mouse (still working after 16 years!)
Quickjoy II Turbo Joystick
RF Cable
RGB Video -> Scart cable (brand new)
Many boxed games in mint or near mint condition, plus two boxes of coverdisks and "blank" disks.
Original Amiga A1200 manuals (including Arexx and AmigaDOS) plus original Workbench 3.0 disks, install disk and folder. Additional books from Amiga Format etc. The Workbench 3.1 installation was taken from my Amiga Forever 3.1 ADF files (not sure how legit this is, but there you go...)
I also have Cloanto's Amiga Explorer (2005) installed, and I can provide the serial license and PC install file if necessary.
Many, many magazines (Amiga Format, CU Amiga, Amiga Power, The One Amiga, Amiga Computing and Amiga Shopper)
Please see the pics below for details of the games for sale:
http://www.photobucket.com/AndyC_Amiga
(N.B. The photos were taken before I got the LCD TV and RGB Scart Cable, hence the small TV. The Amiga no longer has TFX or Doom installed).
Here are pics taken last week of the Amiga running on the LCD TV, with a close up of the Blizzard board and early startup screen:

http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...l/DSC03607.jpg
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...l/DSC03609.jpg
I'm selling all this stuff to raise enough money for a PS3 (and hopefully Amiga OS 4 if and when it works on PS3) so it's not all bad! I have Amiga Forever and the excellent AmiKit system on my PC, which should keep me busy enough! - PS3 NOW BOUGHT!
Happy to ship the smaller items worldwide, but the computer itself will be tricky (expensive) to send overseas.
Please PM me if you fancy making an offer on any of the items. I have a fair idea what this is all worth on eBay, and I'm sure you all do too!
Any reasonable offer accepted.
Thanks in advance folks!

Re: A1200, Blizzard1260, SurfSquirrel (and so on...) for sale
Hi AndyC,
Welcome to AmiBay! - Nice bit of self-moderating there. Not many do!
You're asking UK £, so I'm guessing you are in the UK. If you edit your Profile and enter your location, your Avatar will then let everyone know just where you are in the world.
As you have done such a good job modding yourself, would you mind editing this please:

Where are you located? Could be interested in the magazines but they would be expensive to post.

@RMK
I'm not far from you - Dunfermline, Fife...

Evning all...
Just to let you all know, the Blizzard 1260 is no longer available... it's been snaffled up very quickly!
The rest of the system is still available...
Cheers,

Re: A1200, SurfSquirrel + CD-Rom (and so on...) for sale
Yeah Andy, they are becoming quite rare to find these days! Hope the rest go like this for you.
Nice one. :D
-
Re: A1200, SurfSquirrel + CD-Rom (and so on...) for sale
Indeed!
Problem is, the system configuration on the HD won't work properly without it, so I'm going to have to do something imaginative.
I'll probably back up my hard disk to an HDF on my PC via AmigaExplorer. I do have an older 266MB HD, which was used in my previous system config (with a blizzard 1230 IV I sold a few years back).
I also downloaded the AmigaSYS4 AGA setup last week, which I could put on the drive instead...
Cheers,
AndyC

Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras
The Blizzard 1260 is back on sale again.
The buyer pulled out - seemingly he was bidding on something else on ebay and waited to see how he got on before committing.
I'm hoping there are still some people that might be interested!
Cheers,
AndyC

Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras

Sending PM as well.

Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras (pics added!)
Hi all...
I've had a lot of enquiries about the Blizzard 1260 card, and a few offers.
However, these offers have all been retracted on account of the 68060 chip revision.
To clarify, as can be seen on the pictures above, this card is a XC68060RC50 rev 01F43G.
I have been told by various parties that this card:
a) runs too hot,
b) doesn't have an FPU, and
c) doesn't have an MMU.
To cover these points, this card is fitted in the trapdoor slot of the desktop A1200. The trapdoor cover is always in place when in operation. There is no additional cooling in place, and the amiga does not suffer from any overheating problems of any kind. Granted, the trapdoor gets pretty warm, but I had never been under the impression that this was unusual, or of any concern.
The picture below, which is taken from the output window of an 060 demo I was testing ("Rain", by The Black Lotus) confirms the presence of the FPU and MMU. In any event, programs that require an FPU, such as the CU Amiga TFX FPU game version, run quite happily.
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...l/DSC03613.jpg
Lastly, I am informed that these cards are not suited for overclocking. That may be the case, but I've never had much interest in that.
I honestly believe that misgivings about this card are misplaced, and that this represents a good opportunity for a very good accellerator card.
Anyhow, hopefully this serves to allay any fears and encourage more interest in the card.
Many thanks,
AndyC

Interested in the 1260 (again.)
Hopefully this time I can make up my mind.
-
Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras (pics added!)
I'm willing to buy the Blizzard 1260, but I don't have money before end of the month. Could you inform me in case you are able to reserver it?

Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras (pics added!)
Hi all...
Current order (based on interested parties making offers in the last hour or so!)
First preference goes to Mambrino at Amigaworld.net (the items are also listed on Amiga.org and Amigaworld.net). I have a firm offer from him with a paypal payment expected on Monday.
Second preference is Tone007.
Third preference is Sallinen.
@ Tone007 - this new offer literally came in while you were making your mind up (seemingly my last post helped to clarify matters).
@ Sullinen - Likewise, your offer was the third to come in quick succession...
Many thanks all...

Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras (pics added!)
Hi Andy,
Sorry to hear you have been messed around by a couple of prospective Punters. Here's a word or two just to put the record straight RE this 060 CPU Andy has for sale:
Andys CPU is a FULL 060 with FPU & MMU
MC68LC060 = without integrated FPU - The LC bit is Low Cost
MC68EC060 = without integrated FPU and MMU - The EC bit is Economy
Taken from here:
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/68060
Now Andy's, despite being prefixed with XC instead of MC does NOT mean you don't have an FPU or an MMU. If you didn't have an MMU or an FPU, there would be either EC or LC in the Chip name. XC denotes the CPU is an early model, that's all. MC chips do tend to over-clock slightly better than the XC.
AIBB Beach Ball Render test will tell you your FLOPS. (Floating Point Operations per Second) The FPU calculates these instructions whereas the CPU is calculating Fixed Point Calculations in MIPS (Million Instructions per Second)
Another test to make sure your MMU is working is to use a ROM boot program that requires the use of an MMU to Kick the ROM image into RAM, thereby making the whole System much much slicker. The ONLY desktop program I know of, to use an MMU is "GigaMEM". This program used Hard Drive Space as Virtual RAM.
Despite it being an earlier make/run of 060, with a Small Heatsink & fan attatched, you could get as much as 66Mhz from her with the right Crystal Adjustment. Tbh, I would not consider over-clocking in an A1200 Case anyhow. Air flow is crap.
Best of Luck Andy! :D

Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras (pics added!)
Evening all...
Just to let you all know that the original bidder has now pulled out.
That leaves the card to Tone007 next...
PM Sent.

Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras (pics added!)
Damn PayPal's exchange rates, but it looks like I've bought myself a Blizzard 1260.
Thanks AndyC, can't wait to plug it in.
..yes, my 1200 with Indivision will now be my most valuable computer. Scary.
*edit* forgot about the IMSAI.. Second-most valuable.
-
Re: A1200, Blizzard 1260 SurfSquirrel + extras (pics added!)
Hi all,
Just to confirm that I have now sold the Blizzard to Tone007.
Here's a reminder that the rest of the hardware and games are still up for sale. These include the splendid MAS MP3 player (plugs into the parallel port and plays high quality MP3 even on a basic system), and a SurfSquirrel SCSI adapter.
Cheers,
AndyC

Re: A1200, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, MAS MP3 player + extras
@AndyC
could you post some pics of the MAS Player please....
I want to *ahem* view said pics.... and see if its really worth bringin my pocket money forward for next month LOL :D (yes wifie has me on tight leash)
-
Re: A1200, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, MAS MP3 player + extras
AndyC: i know this may sound a little strange but, would you consider selling me just the HDD?
cheers

Re: A1200, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, MAS MP3 player + extras
Hi all...
@ Zetr0...
Here is a pic of the MAS Player:
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...l/DSC03617.jpg
It's probably one of the coolest bits of kit I collected over the years.
@ gavilan...
With the blizzard 060 now removed from the PC, and the system now having no FastRAM, I'm in the process of backing up some files to my PC, after which I was planning on making a fresh install of Workbench on the drive with standard Workbench: and Work: partitions. I have another drive kicking about, although I have no idea if it's working (only 266 MB though). Let me test that before I come back to you. How much do you think a 2.1GB 2.5" HD is worth these days anyway...
Cheers,
AndyC
-
Re: A1200, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, MAS MP3 player + extras
Righty...
Here's another update:
With the 060 and RAM removed, the Workbench configuration I had (MUI, Newicons, WHDLoad etc.) no longer properly functions. So, I am planning on putting a fresh Classic Workbench install onto the HD (http://classicwb.abime.net/classicweb/lite.htm).
My 266 MB HD is working, and now has a fresh Workbench 3.1 install. As such, if gavilan wants the HD, he's welcome to it, but the A1200 will then be sold with the 266 MB drive instead (with Workbench 3.1 installed only)
In the event that no-one wants the A1200, I'll probably keep it, grab a cheap memory card and simply use it for WHD load games. But even then, I'm going to struggle to find the time.
Anyway... only another £100 to go until I can get my PS3...

Re: A1200, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, MAS MP3 player + extras
Just to let you all know...
The MAS Player has now been sold (apologies Zetr0... user StevieU at Amigaworld.net expressed interest via e-mail in response to my classified ad over there, and we've just concluded deal via paypal).
Everything else is still available.
Cheers,
AndyC

Re: A1200, 2.1 GB HD, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, Many boxed games

I have been toying with getting a clockport version... mmmmh hmmmm still undecided... maybe in the near future :D
best of luck with your sales Andy :)

Not an issue here, installed the card and my 1200 is flying.
subliminal message to AmiBayers: buy AndyC's stuff!
Here's a quick shot of the 1200 I installed it in, in case you were worried it got installed in some yellowed piece of junk ;):

Now, that is very cool...
Thanks for the subliminal message :D
As it happens, I took delivery of the PS3 on Saturday so it's not all bad!
Although to keep my wife happy I still need to sell some (if not all!) of the Amiga Stuff.
Is no-one interested in the SurfSquirrel???
Cheers,
AndyC

Re: A1200, 2.1 GB HD, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, Many boxed games
Hey Andy, does that SCSI cdrom for £10 include postage and would paypal be ok?
I've just bought a surf squirrel from ebay [snip> --- <snip] it was advertised as a game and now need a drive to test it with.
Mike
[edit]
Sorry Mike, under AmiBay's policy, by including a price on your (more than lucky purchase lol) can be construded as price driving so a little snip was in order my friend.
your local friendly Zetr0 ;)

Re: A1200, 2.1 GB HD, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, Many boxed games
Hi there,
The CD-Rom is pretty heavy, so i'll need to price up the postage. That said, I know it's not worth a great deal. The £10 didn't include postage originally, but once I get it properly weighed and work it out, i might be able to do you a deal.
Cheers,
AndyC

Hey Andy, i eagerly await your findings.

Re: A1200, 2.1 GB HD, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, Many boxed games
Hi there...
Might need to wait a few days - my youngest daughter (8 weeks old today) was admitted to hospital today with a respiratory virus so it's all a bit worrying at the moment.
I'll let you know when I've checked the details.
Cheers,
AndyC

Re: A1200, 2.1 GB HD, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, Many boxed games
Andy, please don't worry. My daughter turns 8 weeks on Wednesday and i've just been served up with an eviction notice saying i've gotta be out by the 26th November because my landlord (My COUSIN would you believe) didn't even tell me the house was being repossessed because she hasn't been paying her mortgage so its a little tense around here too. I hope your daughter gets well soon.
Mike

Re: A1200, 2.1 GB HD, SurfSquirrel, CD-ROM, Many boxed games
Agh! Nightmare...
You can pick your friends, but not your family...
My daughter is on the mend, but she'll be in until friday at the earliest.
Hope it all works out for you!
Cheers,

Evening all...
Just to let you know that the CD-Rom drive is now gone - many thanks to ScrappySphinx for being so patient with me!

Re: A1200, 2.1 GB HD, SurfSquirrel, Many boxed games
Hi Heather...
You know it's a PAL machine? Just making sure!
It would be tricky and expensive to ship to the states - and believe it or not, I had kind have secretly hoped that no-one would want it
Cheers,
