if all else fails you could check out dealextreme.com , about the cheapest there is.
heheh it took them 4 weeks to ship my order of ide2cf and pcmcia2cf adapters...maybe because i was unable to controll myself and also bought a minilaser, a gunscope and 2 gunmounted lasers there.
Prices are incredible, and no shippingcosts ever!!

So far as i'm aware, the LED should work with anything thats connected to the IDE so long as its readable, as it works off current being passed over the interface.

Amigakit.com do the cables for a reasonable price. (can't post prices) I got one myself recently.
They also do the complete setup with the flash cards.

Ah, it appears its because the flash adaptor doesnt connect the necessery circuit to feed the LED...
This is extremely simple to fix it seems as shown here...
