Xanxi I am not dishonest. I came here to seek support on the item I received in this for trade thread as I thought this was the most appropriate place. Apart from the first evening I have not tried continual reseating after inspecting my motherboard pins and realised this may be the problem. In fact the card is sitting in its anti static bag well away from my mobo and has not been touched except for that first evening and to inspect the pins on the card itself (which all appeared fine). I have sent pictures to someone else who believes the card has no visual defects on the board. I believe it is working and believe my mobo is at fault. However when I am asked to seek help elsewhere and am risking frying this BPPC until you receive the blizzard offends me. I can assure you I will not be seeking a refund/exchange that is not my plan, but from an outsider looking in the card could be said to have been DoA as it did not work when I first received it, is it the board or my motherboard? Probably my motherboard, but I must ask people to help me diagnose my problem and am sorry if this worries you.

From now on I will ask for help elsewhere on the board (amioracle) and put this thread merely for reference.

I do not want to offend anyone or to accuse anyone. I did my part of the swap. I helped you with some advices when you received the board, and since the moment you booted your 1200 with it, it has been proven working and you definitly can't call it DOA. As JiggyMG said earlier, once you receive the board, you just have to prove it working in a simple way and leave feedback (as i asked for). That's what i always do for myself.
I am sorry you are experiencing troubles but i can't do anything more. So i would like this swap topic to not be at the top of the forum all the time because people could believe i sent a non working board and it also makes me stress me about the board itself.
As soon as i receive your full part of the deal, this thread has to be closed, so it's definitly not the place for hardware discussion.

That's what i mean, with no offense to anyone: there is an appropriate section for hardware discussion. The board is all yours, it does not belong anymore to this thread.

Good news! The parcel from Wasagi has arrived with boards in good shape.

I have virtualy the same Blizzard board had no luck getting it to work last week end, though I was going be a very sad froggie but then I finaly got it to boot on a Rev 2b A1200 Mobo, much to my relief

I see u have a 1d4 Mobo I could`t get it to work on the any of the 1d4 mobo`s I`ve got. The next mission when I get time is the search out timing fixes as that is at the moment the only thing I can think of

I have just tested the Blizzard 1240.
I believed first it was non working because i only had black screen whilst my Apollo 1240 on the very same A1200 was booting in 5 sec.
Finally, it appears that the Blizz does boot but takes 2min45sec to get to the "insert disk" screen. This delay is the same from cold boot or Ctrl-A-A.
Do not know if it's a normal behaviour but anyway, i cannot say it does not work.
Hopefully, as this board goes for 060 upgrade, it will get better with a new CPU.
Not tested the SCSI kit but it is not necessary.

So, it is closed matter to me, i consider that swap as complete and i will proceed with feedback in the evening.


EDIT: by the way, the mobo of my test A1200 for this Blizz 1240, and for the BPPC as well, is 2B.

Hmm not sure. My blizz 1230 is instant boot. Just for information purposes. I only had an 8 meg expansion before and that took forever to boot. But once I got the blizz 1230 I was shocked it was instant boot. Made me very happy indeed :)

I have not had an A1200 boot in 5 secs. What ROMs are you using? I believe the delay is caused by the ide seek time (try with hdd and see if same boot time); however 2m45s seems a tad excessive. Test SCSI kit too if you can. Good to know what revision mobo you used the bppc on :) Although I'm sure each 2b has its own individual quirks.

@Xanxi: maybe you need different 040 libraries to make the card boot, as well a new setpatch replacement.
