Hi this has probably been asked before (I did try a search on amibay but didn't really find anything) but apart from the 3D is there any difference between them i.e. speed and also resolution sizes
Also how does the Picasso IV compare to these card with the exception of its built in scandoubler and addon cards

the cybervision64/3d had a scandoubler card as a option similar to the picasso 4,also not even sure if the 3d part was particularly useful even in the day on an amiga
speed wise they are pretty much the same and had 4 mb options etc
CV64 is a Zorro-III only card and CV64/3D is both auto Zorro-II and III. I did use the CV64 (my first RTG card), and it was a good card (you can pass the Amiga native signal though the card, but also a scan doublet signal from a scan doubler. I am not sure, but back then the I heard that the CV64 was a bit faster then CV64/3D. But I have never tested this.
Yeah the CV64 is supposed to be a better board with a better RAMDAC which should offer a bit higher refresh rate and colors on higher resolutions.
The CV64 3D is more interesting in my opinion with the scandoubler option and automatic switch. The scandoubler is rather good with LCD screens, unlike most of scandoublers older than the Indivisions boards.
That's the board i have choosen for my A4000.
Both are fine cards.
The CV64 is overall a better card, it is faster and has the roxler chip. This card is the best choice for the A3000.
The 3D is a better fit for the 4000D because of the scan doubler. It is a pain to seat the card with the scan doubler, but if you put the 4000 on the side and work it in it is manageable. The 3D is entirely useless, but the scan doubler is a real benefit for the 4000.
I own both cards, and that is my opinion.

The Warp3D/MiniGL driver is incomplete (or at least does not function well) for the CV64/3D plus there's not enough VRAM to run any of the software coded for for Warp3D, the only exception is Decent (game) I believe.Quote:

Also worth mentioning the scan doubler option for the CV64/3D is not a flicker fixer unlike the PicassoIV. Worth noting as some games/software take advantage of interlaced modes although granted you wont use them often with RTG being available.

I think I will keep the setup I am using, With the Picasso IV via The Cybervision 64 and swap them over from there RTG Duties every so often to hopefully extend there life
I was gonna swap the Cybervision 64 with the Cybervision 64/3D but seems from the comment above, the 3D side of things the card can do is minimal
If you have a PIV and a Cybervision 64 then you arguably already have the best two classic RTG cards money can buy. Your only other avenue to consider investigating is a Mediator/Voodoo combination as this will give you a good Warp3D experience. You could consider selling either the PIV or C64 and get the Mediator setup with money to spare.Quote:
