Archos Overdrive 35 external PCMCIA Hard Drive Unit for the A1200/A600.

£50 ono + postage.

This external HDD unit comes boxed as new, with original manuals and PSU.

This unit is currently fitted with a 340MB HDD, which is its original drive. This can be replaced with a larger IDE HDD if required.

This is the only external HDD produced for the A1200 and is a great HDD solution for those not wishing to open up their Amigas. I used this drive with my A1200 until I eventually fitted an internal HDD. It also works perfectly with the A600, and I used to use it perfectly with an A600 (with the 37.300 kickstart rom revision). Again this is a useful addition to an A600 setup, especially if you have upgraded you A600 internally and have limited room remaining.

It supports autobooting and automounting (by the kickstart rom), and can even be used together with an internal HDD with the A1200/A600.

looks like a change of underwear may also be in order.

I'm now had chance to fully test the drive with an A1200 and it works perfectly. Span up first time and booted straight into Workbench. Loaded a couple of programs and they loaded perfectly with no issues.

I'm also now PM'd Jon with the postage costs to Germany.

A little off topic, but does anyone know how this unit is able to autoboot off the PCMCIA port?
