The board was from here as Steve has said. I traded a blizzard 1240 + SCSI kit + cash for the card.
I think this is a great idea and something I think I'll be doing in future myself.
On reflection of this whole situation I am very angry about the outcome. I feel let down. I immediately raised concerns with the board when I received it and tried nothing more than reseating the card and cleaning the edge connector on my motherboard. I was told that it was my card now and that was that. I have since driven 300-400 miles buying and collecting various A1200s to see if it was a problem with my hardware. The only kind of compensation I have received is the seller paid for postage to Cosmos in France for the cards inspection.
With the 3+ faults that have been discovered (Failed PPC, bad soldering of multipliers, displaced resistor etc) I can assure all, that I did not cause all of these problems, one maybe I could accept, but all three? I did not touch the board with a soldering iron and handled it like glass at all times.
If this was the otherbay, I would have requested an immediate refund and then sought a dispute through paypal if not successful. I have worked in the community spirit here to my detriment.
Has it changed the way I will trade here in future? Probably. From now on I think I will handle my trades differently:
1) Only trade with respected/established members.
2) Seek evidence of an item is working before I receive
3) Do not swap hardware
4) Only pay with paypal goods transaction
5) Test an item only once and if not working seek return/refund
The good thing throughout all of this is the support of the members here and their suggestions/help and a massive thankyou to Cosmos.
Conclusion:
I have been left out of pocket, in terms of initial hardware purchase + additional attempts to get this card to work, but worse of all it's changed my attitude towards trading here :(

The card was never booted longer than 1-2 minutes with the fan working. The fan did click a couple of times the very first time I fitted the card (as noted on the sales thread).
I dont think I can afford to pay the upgrade cost of PPC with a good chance it will still not work :(
I am OK cosmos, just saddened, its been a long journey. Thanks for your help, do you mind if I think about what to do with card for a few days? I can pay you now for work done so far or can wait until I decide what will happen to card. Up to you, let me know via PM and Ill arrange.
As I said before, bad news to hear about your board. :(
Of course, try all time to make deals with serious buyers/traders. Is "the first law" with old Hard&Soft.
I know you because my A4000D-T project is stopped few times (also stopped now, but for different things).
About your "steps": 1, 2, 4 and 5 they are......
About swapping I think is a different matter (refer to 1).
In anyway don't desperate, please. This site is plenty of serious & good people.
Best wishes
If that is true mate, then it's really bad (if not unacceptable).
I don't know the selling thread nor the seller, but if the trade didn't clarified SOLD-AS-IS or anything that stated that it's not his concern if the card worked or no, then I guess you can discuss some stuff with the seller and the mods here.
From my perspective, I would have gladly taken back an item if the buyer was unhappy or unsure about the quality I described (with him paying the shipping costs though).
And as I understand you're left without an accelerator now or not?
If so, just say so and I'll see how I can help with an spare Apollo 1230.
Was sold as working and tested (thread here: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=8875)
Some things concern me looking back on the thread after Cosmos inspection:
1) http://www.amibay.com/showpost.php?p...3&postcount=18 + http://cosmosamiga.blogspot.com/2010...oeffs-iii.html
2) board reported to be returning 200mhz on PPC yet on Cosmos inspection multiplier set to 210mhz (would it still report 200mhz?) http://www.amibay.com/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=33 + http://cosmosamiga.blogspot.com/2010...-coeffs-i.html
3) Is this test even enough to confirm PPC is working? I only ever got 040 working in all my testing.
On all my trades, if something doesnt arrive and work/described as expected then I offer refund immediate in first instance.
Thanks for the offer of an accelerator, but I have a another Bppc and bvision which I bought to replace hoping this one can be fixed. It may be now that I have to sell the BPPC setup and go with a cheaper accel. I dont think I can afford £400-500 to vanish.
I think I must have somewhere my old 160MHz (non BGA) PowerPC that Stachu replaced with the 300MHz one.
Do you want me to arrange sending it to Cosmos in order to replace the old one (if problem exist on PPC CPU?
Is it possible to replace? I thought all PPC were BGA?
That is a very nice offer of you, if Cosmos is able. Would at least provide a cheaper 'test' than plumping for expensive 300mhz 'test' :)
Yeah old PPC CPUs are not BGAs like the new 300MHz ones.
You can check from the picture after Stachu's Upgrade :)
I dunno if the CPU of mine (the old one) works atm (it worked just fine pre upgrade) but once I'll get home I'll check it's existence and report back in order to send it to Cosmos.
Efcharisto!
Oh yes, I'm ok !
Yesterday, I found a new method to solder very tiny QFP pins very very quickly !
