Hi can you explain this for us please

68030 @ 50 MHz (genuine 68030/50, no overclocking)

when we can see 68EC030@ 40 mhz

overclocked if running at 50mhz not 40mhz as pictured and not a full 68030 cpu EC has MMU missing.

Yes - I pulled the spec from a web site : https://www.vesalia.de/e_ematrix1230.htm

Unfortunately I am not an expert at this or the A1200 so I went with the e_matrix description. Happy to amend the description if need be.

it might be an overclocked card ( some were sold like that )

so run sysinfo and do a speed test, this will show your MIPS and mhz speed.

whichamiga is prefered but not as novice friendly to run

then you will know what you have.

SYSINFO output

SYSINFO output

Hi

Please refer to the pictures below.

  • sysinfo speed.jpg shows the SYSINFO speed report. With the e-matrix card, the A1200 is about 5x faster than a standard A1200, hence the comment "Smell the rubber?". It confirms a 68030 running at 40Mhz.
  • Built in RAM.jpg shows the standard A1200 2MB RAM block
  • 16MB RAM.jpg shows the additional 16MB RAM the e-matrix card is supplying.

I hope this clarifies things.

Regards
JonB
