    Mate, the U204 must be replaced even on 3.1 A3640? I always think only the U209 one have to be modified...

    De-solder both original GAL chips (U209, obligatory & U204 if board is 3.0).

    How: use a cutting wire pliers, cut all pins from both chips (in the 3.0 revision A3640) or just U209 (A3640 rev 3.1). De-solder the remaining pins from board, one at a time. Clean the area with IPA.

    Apply non-washable tack flux and carefully solder the sockets in the correct orientation.

    Push the chips in the correct places and test the board.

    I'm scared to death to mess with soldering/desoldering things I have an a2000, a3000, and a4000 all with batteries that need to be replaced - but I'm too scared to screw it up and don't know anywhere around here I can take that stuff. Oh well. Maybe I'll give it a shot...lol.

    Cosmos can also do it for you, if you ask nicely, but it will cost a bit more than this for sure
    And yes I have a Cyberstorm MKIII here which used to be a PPC version and this baby is doing good now thanks to Cosmos.

    @esc

    First, remove all the batteries by yourself right now !

    For only install new coin batteries, shipping from the USA will cost you a fortune... Try to find a guy in your country !

    And shipping back to you (from France) is very more expansive than the coming : three mobos = about 4 kilos = 50.70 € !!!
