    Soak them in peroxide solution
I'd go for this method. 12% peroxide with a tough of Vanish in a bowl or a glass jar, with aluminium foil underneath, to relfect the sunlight back - that way you get the maximum exposure for the keys. If you can make a fancy 'upside down lampshade' design to reflect the light back at the sides, then so much the better.

The future's so Retr0bright, I gotta wear shades.....

18% or lower concentration? Longer exposure and stronger peroxide?

    @ johnim

If the yellow isn't being affected, then it's not down to flame retardants; it's down to polymer degradation and oxidation.

Time to match some paint to the inside of the keyboard, John.... maybe you could take one of the parts and try to match up a paint swatch at your local Halfords? If you can find a shade they can mix some up for you.

Ford Sahara Beige isn't far off the original colour, but they did several versions of it. You want the older, 'greyer' version, as used on the 1966 Mustang.

The version used on the 1980 Ford Capri is also very close.

I know this because my Dad had a Ford Escort in this colour back around 1970-71. Like this one:-

    @ Methanoid

It gets better, here is A600 / A1200 / VIC 20 white, otherwise known as Austin Rover Old English White....

When you restore these machines, if they are really badly marked or beyond help like John's is, you have to get as close to the authentic colour as you can...

It's a fine line between being awesome and being a sad anorak, knowing this stuff...
