    This just came in..

It's not the ordinary 'dot' laser, but a beam one. Sorry if the pics are a bit blurry, but i had to hold the laser with one hand and the camera with the other. This gadget will help me experiment in scanning 3D objects.

There's far better -and rather far more retrolicious- ways to do that!!!

I bought myself a few books today.

Wanted to have this since highschool, and I've found this set for an absolute bottom price. It's the 1997 edition with yearbooks from 1997 to 2010, 43 volumes in total which use up about 2,5 meters of bookshelf

I finally snagged one of these beauties but it has a few issues. Got it at a right knock down price though so can't complain.

It didn't have a psu ( could do with some help on this over at http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=36196 ) and apparently there is a problem with the cart slot which I think is fixable.

    Got one of these:

    4 port Video/USB KVM
So, I now have my work laptop for telework, my linux box, and my Amiga all using the same screen.

The only issue I had was power. It pulls power from USB, which my A1200 doesn't have..
But I have one of those USB wall-wart chargers, and I have it plugged into the power strip my A1200 is plugged into.
I flip on that switch, the Amiga 1200 powers up, the GBS-8200 powers up, and the KVM USB feed powers up.

My work laptop and home desktop share the monitor, mouse and keyboard.
My A1200 only shares the monitor.

    Still, much nicer..

I suppose I could try a PS2/Amiga mouse adapter (with a USB plug) and share the mouse too...
But I kind of like my Amiga mouse.
And it's just to the side of the Amiga.
The PC mouse is just to the side of the PC keyboard in a sliding keyboard drawer underneath.

Works as good as I'd hoped.
(Well, for the 15 minutes I've used it so far.. But that's plenty for a thorough endorsement. )

    desiv
(Well, it will be much nicer when I route the cables. They are kind of just lying on top of the desk right now... Cable management is a lot of work. )
Actually, my only "issue" is that the cables that came with it are pretty short. They reach what I need them to reach, but they aren't long. Maybe 3'???

    Another one joins the family

I just sold 1 of 6 A500's yesterday, and all ready got another one... This is an obsession! It was sold with "ram expansion" but when I took a closer look this was no ordinary expansion. It's a MiniMax with 1MB of chipram via Gary chip And maybe possible to expand further... I'll look into that. Also sold by first owner, and he has taken good care of it

    She will be loved
