Default The twins! (My two A600's) =D

    Hi Folks!

I thought I'd share some pics of my A600's, in the past I've had ACA630, Apollo 630/620, Viper 630 but have all been a little bit overkill for the A600

Since selling my ACA630 I've been using Kipper superb 4mb upgrade, it works very well and I also have a 2mb SRAM card for a total of 6mb Fast Ram. 2mb chip of course so it's ideal for a little Gaming machine and WHDLoad

My other A600 which had the ACA630 was a little lonely until yesterday, this little fella arrived in the post

So in this A600 (the slightly bigger twin!) I have the ACA620, A604 with Indivision ECS installed. I also have a Subway USB but this isn't currently installed as I was testing with my A1200... I also have modified the case for Kippers CF adapter and USB ports.

And some pics of the ACA booted into a basic workbench, I still need to configure the ACA & Maprom

IDE seems a little slow but I think once I setup the ACA fully and can now use SFS it should be faster

    Thanks for looking!

Nice! I do like the 'comments' on SysInfo. Never seen that particular comment before!

Nice to see the Indy ECS still in use

...that accelerator, wonder if the ACA520 will be based on that?

Thanks for the kind words! Indeed it's still the same ECS you sold me and hasn't ever left this A600

I do miss my old ACA630 that was overclocked to 40mhz, it was killer for an A600 but as soon as you try to enjoy a 16 colour workbench it's the ECS chipset is just too slow... So better to keep it simple in which case the ACA620 is plenty quick enough

The ACA500 AFAIK will just be a Ram expansion or bridge board which you can plug the ACA1220 into or (hopefully) another A1200 Turbo Board. I want to try my A500+ with BPPC & Bvision lol

Awesome twins you got there bro!!! Me likes
    Just 2 observations:
    1. Just run ACATune ffs... these are gimped SysInfo resultz. Give us the real dealz!
    2. I'm under the impression that Poseidon (for Subway) requires an 030 but I can be mistaken.

    Nice stuff!

I can't say I have either, I also noticed it I must say. Personally I do still have a real need for the 030 model as games like Dune II run alot better with one of them. Though saying that it ran alright on a standard A1200 so in theoy it should work on this fine too. I guess I just like that little bit extra.

V cool. I'm amazed how tidy a tricked out A600 is on the inside now. I remember some years back when I first discovered A600 accelerators even existed and saw that ultimate A600 site. It was smart but looked pretty dodgy on the inside with massive apollo board, mechanical HD etc. No indi ecs for it either.

    I'm sticking with my ACA630 but it doesn't stop me wanting one of these . . .must . . . . resist.

    @fitzsteve

Very cool pictures my friend. As always of course
You bought the 620 really fast! Were you order No.1?

Three questions though regarding the 620 system

a)Why do I see 4mb in the workbench window?Did you configure the card to use 4mb cause of the pcmcia limit?

b)I can see the speed increase in sysinfo but is it noticable also as far as

    common tasks are concerned?Opening drawers,whdload e.t.c?

c)Which workbench are you planning to install in it?Classic workbench lite

    perhaps?
