Hi all, i have procured an Atari ST 520 machine that was sold as spares or repairs. I have attached a picture of the motherboard below. Apparently the unit boots to a blue screen with a white border (see second attached pic). I can see from the motherboard shot that an IC is missing (inside the shielded square section of the middle of the board). After a check around i believe this to be the C025914 Video Shifter IC. Does anyone have one available? I did fine a C070713-002 listed on Ebay which claims to be a Video Shifter IC for the 520 but i'm unsure if this would be compatible?

Also, can anyone tell me what the board attached to the ribbon coming from the empty slot is? It looks like some sort of ram expansion?

Lastly, any ideas what those taped wires on the left and the switch on the right are for?

I have very little (actually non-existent) knowledge on the ST machines lol

Thanks

The ribbon cable device is a 512K memory expansion which make your 520STFM a 1mb machine

Do you have one of these shifter IC's? I ordered one from Ali Express, but you know how that might go. It would be better to have one from another tech who has tested it.

Best,

Jeff
