should work if you keep the directory structure the same.
probably need to do it in safe mode. and id use a batch opperation like Xcopy "drive with game" *.* "drive you want to use now"

so example..
xcopy d:\*.* e:\

just type your version needed in to command prompt in safe mode.

then go off for a number of coffees

you would want to be in safe mode, that way files should not be in use.
then you can power off remove the current D drive. get in to windows and if needed change E: to d: (in theory it should automatically take the D letter but probably wont.)
that should work for everything near enough. "cant think of anything it wont work for because it is not the os drive"
also any apps n stuff you may already have on E would probably stop working when you changed the letter to D.

and you shouldnt clone to ssd's it can mess up their performance "will usually be slower"

there are apps that will move the things for you. "i find it much easier to just reinstall though"
but an app is SSD Boost Manager
its also a good idea to change windows envoiroment variables for temp files page files and so on.
and your firefox/chrome etc default download location.

Cheers, can you do it with the machine running or do you need a host machine or boot by CD/USB?

You boot off CD or a USB flash drive. I use Clonezilla myself and it's definitely the best way to do what you want, it should even clone the drive so the drive letter is the same when Windows first boots and you won't notice the difference, except for more drive space.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the advice :)

I'll be asking for a new SSD for my Birthday or Xmas. I have a lot of stuff installed to C/Programs I can uninstall and re-install on a data drive this should free up a fair bit of space for now.

I'll certainly be back and referring to this thread!

Great steve a fair few monitors have dropped prices 24in min now for you

Cheers, just looking 1080p are dirt cheap but 1440p are still quite high. I'm wondering whether I'd be better off getting 2 more 22in and having a triple screen setup, great for Assetto Corsa :D

Looks like that one has no scaler so it's fixed at 1440p, not a lot of use in the real world.

Hey Guys,

I gave some upgrade love to the other PC too - some of the bits I got for xmas, the upgrades going in today:

MSI Gaming SLI Motherboard
AMD FX-8350 8 core CPU (4ghz stock)
Matching GTX660 for SLI
120gb Sandisk SSD

This should really help my triple screen setup!

Some piccies :D

I don't normally OC my PC's but I checked out that link you sent me and maybe I'll push it up a bit, maybe 4.5ghz :)

Not much I can do with the bundle of cables at the bottom but will try!

WinDoze installed and SLI enabled and working in Surround. Just doing all the updates... 40 of 138 and counting...

Got most stuff setup now how I want it, geez I forgot how long it takes to configure your OS from scratch.

Really annoying that uPlay force you to download the games again even though you have them on your HD already. Even that peice of cr@p Origin can use the data if you pick the same download location...

Anyway, as for performance. I'm getting a solid 60fps at Very High Settings with V-Sync/AA on Assetto Corsa now, so it looks even more spectacular in 2D surround (5040x1050)

F1 2014 runs everything Ultra in 2D surround, perfectly smooth :D

Annoyingly SLI breaks Far Cry 4, there are nasty glitches, it's a shame as the performance is greatly improved with the extra GPU. Hopefully they fix that at some point!

Otherwise I'm pretty pleased with the setup and should last me another couple of years.
