Hi Guys
After months of pain and expense I finally got my wish a game of Quake on the broken A4000 I Swapped on Amibay. She is not perfect still throws the odd system error but hey she is nearly 20 and deserves that.

so system as she is now:

A4000 Rev B motherboard 14mb ram new RTC battery and socketed RTC chip thanks to Hickey.

Mediator 4000Di Version 1 with Voodoo 3 3000 and Realtech NIC

Indivision AGA

and the Trusty 50mhz with 64mb ram (funny what a few jumpers in the right place can do memory running great as well took a chance and for once it paid off bought this as only cpu working)

put it together sort out the problems with the IDE and what to you get Quake running on the voodoo in its own screen mode running faster than it did on my first PC.

Just wanted to share with you guys. Next project is either an Amiga 1 or a 1200Tower LETS ROCK.

:shhh:Oh and to the doubters out there this could have been yours but thank God I spent a little bit more time on her:thumbsup:

That special moment when you finally get that game running that you always wanted! It's a great feeling. I wish it happened more frequently. :)

I'm 26, I can haz errors too?

I wait till fitzsteve sorts it out then I play that version heheheheheh

must admit steve your have the material for a quake comparison vid on the amiga, just that I`d like to see it

Quake

Quake

Have to admit I forgot how much fun it was till I got it working again, the 060 is a real joy I would never go back to an 030 or slower 040 because quake is so slow but on the 50mhz she runs great. Once I get the SCSI controller on I hope most of the silly problems will go away but we will see.

would love a Denub USB been told by Amigakit that with it setup correctly I could boot of a USB flash stick with out any problem and by pass the whole IDE system that would be awesome. only wish Amigakit would combine the zorro ram and usb card that would be well worth the money and very very fast.

Thanks for the kind words, Toby was the guy I got the orginal machine from and with help from the guys on Amibay I have built a power A4000.

Cheers guys
