I have for sale a FAULTY Super Nintendo base unit.

It is a PAL unit. The case is quite yellowed and has 2 cracks in the base.

I am selling as faulty because sometimes you have to put a cartridge in and out several times before it will work. Once its working it is fine but it can take a few tries. As you can see from the pictures, it is show working (after several attempts!). Im not sure what this could be, I reckon its the cartridge port on the SNES that needs looking at but Im no expert!

No leads included, just the base unit. Game not included.

Price £9 + postage to the UK of £5.

Im willing to post to Europe, please contact me for a postage quote.

Payment is by Paypal (gift, or you pay the fees).

Probably just needs the cart port and carts cleaning to sort it out.

Hi Acid,

Thanks for the suggestion buddy :), Ive already scrubbed the port with a toothbrush and IPA and cant see anything physical that could prevent contact.

The games work fine on my other SNES consoles so Im pretty sure theyre OK, but I cleaned them too just in case :)

The one thing Im really pleased about is that the casing is horribly yellow!

Hopefully someone who knows how to fix this will bag a cheap SNES

It's probably just the contacts in the slot are a bit loose after years of having cartridges in and out of them.

Check this guide: http://mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/md1-loose-cart.htm

although its for a megadrive, I have done this on my SNES and master system and it makes a HUGE difference, whereas before I'd have to reinsert carts or wiggle them to try and get the game to load, affter doing this it works first time (usually) :)

Although for the SNES make sure you discharge the console first otherwise you'll probably blow the internal fuse.

Nice one, Ill check that out myself too

Payment received from AmiNeo :)
