Guys. I have a question. I have The Matze version of the 040/060 adapter (Don't know what the difference is from the other version)..The bottom of the top Board has single pin strips instead of a 040 socket. But some pins are not fitted, is that right (Take a look at the pic). You see I want to remove them all and fit a proper 040 PGA socket on top of the bottom board...Then reconnect the top board...

Strange. pins should be connected. but NOT transffered to the 040 layer.

it doesn't look built incorrectly, the bottom layer has all the pins connected on both sides, then the top layer (all top pins connect to 060 cpu, but certain pins have to be blocked between the two layers which is done on the board on the right

Yep I guessed that. Though is it to many pins not connected to the bottom board.. But can I remove all those horrible single pin headers and fit a 040 PGA socket onto the lower board (But don't remove any pins from the 040 PGA socket). Then fit the top board onto the bottom one, ans I gonna fit a 060 socket to the top of the top board (It'll look nicer)..

Oh. Here's pic of the top side of the top board, is that correct..and does anyone have a pic of the bottom of the top board please, and top of the bottom board (so I can see what one looks like)....
Pghulme. Do you have still have a sheet of the connections that you supplied with the kits that you sold, or better still can you put the zip file and the pics here from http://www.a1k.org/forum/showpost.php?p=681523&postcount=286

Thanks..

not really, all the pins get connected and soldered on both top and bottom layers, however, some of the petruding pins from the top layer (060) need to be trimmed so that they can still be soldered to the board but the pin doesn't touch the 040 layer below it!!!

you may need to flip the picture depending on how your looking at it (notice the key pin top right and rotate accordingly)

but build it in two parts,

bottom part - 040 - all pins are connected and go through to the socket on the mainboard
top part - 060 - all pins are connected, however the coloured pins (see above) are trimmed so that when you push the two parts together these pins from the 060 layer don't go into the 040 socket layer

Ok. Though yours looks different to this picture (Which pic is correct), as it looks like your version is different to the one from Cosmos.. (mine looks like bottom pic)

Oh by the way...Anyone that missed out getting a kit (Like I did) Cosmos is getting more kits (Keep it going I say)..Just contact him...

both the same actually, as your picture shows all the inner pins on the 060 trimmed, if you trim them or not they won't touch anything in the 040 socket as it doesn't have these pins. So both the same. In fact I would follow yours as it'd be more neater (not that you'd see it)

Hi, I'm currently building this (well last night and will hopefully complete it this week) and just wonder if the yellow dot's indicate something special? Not important to know for the cutting itself but would be interesting to know anyway.
