I'm gonna ask the question (knowing I almost certainly won't like the answer)

How much to ship the C128D-cr to the UK, my good man?

Honest answer, I have NO idea?

I'll weigh it tomorow if you are really interested, but this is a NTSC unit, so What are you going to use it for? (You being PAL, and more programs being available pal than ntsc).

Any suggestions on which services to get a quote from, I'm thinking ups and fedex are about my only options for a box that large.

I'm interested for the 1540.
How much is the shippincost to Belgium ?
Can you send me pictures ?
if you could send me a PM

Thanks
Stéphane

i'd be interested in the 128D in 2 weeks time when i get paid....

You are the first one to declare interest in it. Should I put it as reserved for you?

I'll do up some pics and have a shipping quote for you later today. I'm just getting up and getting the kids ready for school.

yes please, i get paid on the 27th or 28th, if you could also check shipping to Calgary for me (T2G5B4), but i am guessing it'll be in the $45-55 range..

thanks

The cheapest I could find is USPS (United States Postal Service).

Express Mail® International
Max. length 60", max. length plus girth combined 108" 3 - 5 business days $87.50
Priority Mail® International
Max. length 60", max. length plus girth combined 108" 6 - 10 business days $64.60

I'm still interrested but I still have some questions
Priority Mail® International for 10 days is ok for me.
On the first picture I see a yellow stain on the case or it is a reflection of light ?
The box is still in good condition and you have the manual ?

What price do you want for the 1540 and shippingcost included ? Send me a PM

Tanks

Stéphane

I'd prefer if you could send USPS, UPS charges idiotic 'brokerage' fees, on a $165 purchase they'll add about $35-40 in fees plus taxes for basically filling out a customs form....

whereas USPS/Canada Post will add $5 + GST

(UPS held a recent purchase from the US 'hostage' on me....$33 fees on a $41 purchase, and i refuse to use them any longer)

If for whatever reason the 128D deal happens to not go through I'd be interested. Looking to find one for awhile now.

For SaviorX.

Got the 128D boxed today and looks like shipping to you will be 60.00.

C128D Is shipped!.

Look for it in 6 to 10 days.

I just tried the USPS online shipping and it was nice, enter all the stuff in and it printed the correct custom form and label and let me pay.

All I had to do was take it to the post office and hand it off.

(If I had wanted to wait till tomorrow, they would have picked it up for free.)

Hope you enjoy your new 128 as much as I enjoy mine... :D

The user port adapter/cable is all needed to emulate a drive using some control software on a pc/Amiga?

with an XE1541/XM1541 or XA1541 cable the C64/128 can make use of PC hard drives via progs like 64HDD

files and .d64s can write directly out to a connected commodore drive (1541 & clones/1571/1581) via Star Commander using the same cables.

(also using the older X1541 cables, but these require a standard parallel port and windows 98 or less (ie DOS or a windows still carrying DOS support)

not sure of what the program might be to do the same thing via the Amiga

Amiga Explorer allows you to write directly to the Amigas drives with a null modem cable.

No, there is a way to emulate a disk drive with a pc. But it uses the serial port (IEC Bus, not rs232).

http://www.64hdd.com/64hdd/details/c64-xcables.html

I set one of these up 3 or 4 years ago and it was a pain in the butt.
I ended up with a old laptop running dos, (I think the laptop only had 64 meg of ram). It's a touchy program.

You really should try to get a sd2iec device like the uiec. They are so easy to use and tiny too.
