I recently bought a 1541-II, but the PSU seems kinda dead. The drive will continue to spin no matter what! I tried the drive with another 1541-II PSU and it works right away.

This is a picture of the fauling CPU that came with the drive (Input: 220V / 50Hz. Output: 5V 700mA / 12V 500mA)

This is a picture of my old 1541-II PSU which works just fine (Input: 220V / 50Hz. Output: 5V 1A / 12V 500mA)

So i googled, and i found this thread http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26487&sid=8f56be3b6fcc50cf9925e04c015dcc6f

It seems like PSU problems are very normal for the 1541-II? Maybe that is why Vesalia.de sells spare PSUs for these drives?

Did anyone ever experience the same as me or the guys in the Lemon thread?

Yup I appear to have had the same issue a few years back. I managed to snag a 1541-II from here described has having problems reading disks. I had it shipped to the uk and immediately noticed the power supply had a different style mains plug with a uk 3-pin convertor plug attached. I powered it up to be greeted by a right racket of noise, lights on constant and the drive also spinning. I grabbed a CD32 psu and powered up with that! Everything was fine from then on in. I never investigated further, just assumed the original psu was fubared somehow.
