A few old HDD's I have for sale due to my clearout/purge.

1 x Toshiba MK4006MAV - 4Gb
1 x Toshiba MK3021GAS - 30Gb
1 x Hitachi DK23DA-10F - 10Gb

The above all seem to work okay, full format fine in windows and had 4/5Gb of files copied over to them - via USB-IDE adapter.

1 x IBM DTNA-22160 - 2150Mb
1 x Maxtor 2512A (Dated '93 - think its either 120Mb or 510Mb)

The above two spin up but they dont detect on my IDE adapter, think its because they are drawing too much current from the USB port and I dont have any other way of testing them at the moment.

£15 inc P&P for the lot.

Interested. Does it include shipping to Greece?

Hi There,

Ive just checked on this and I do not think I am going to be able to send it to Greece, I can only send small items out using my postal account through my employer and I am not sure this will fit in that category due to the packaging for the drives etc.

If its okay can I offer this to the next in line jimbo1979

Sorry Hezor:(

Sorry Hezor:(

If that's the case, I'm only interested in the first three 2.5" drives.
I'm sure you can fit them all in an envelope with bubbles! If not I want at least the 30gb!

If you do not want to ship to Greece please tell me, but I think packaging is not a problem for something that can be arranged.

I will have to step away from this. I spent out on a 030 Blizzard for A1200 and my wife would kill me :)

Sorry but thanks anyway

@HeZoR if he is going to split certain drives he will have to start a new thread I think. This is for the whole lot.

Hi Helzor

Ill see what I can do. I am just too lazy to go the post office (Sorry:D) so I use my employers Royal Mail account. Ill see how good I can get them packaged and see if I can get the costs down.

leave it with me and I will see what I can do.

Edit: Right.. I should be able to get the lot in a A4 sized envelope which my colleague informs me will sneak through as Airmail Small Packets.

Postage will be £5.20 by airmail (~3 days)

Items arrived, but the postman did his dirty job...

Here are the photos I took before I touched anything.

Hopefully everything was still inside...but they violated even the interior nylon.
I will check these HD's for errors. Do you know if they have S.M.A.R.T.?

Hi There,

Hopefully they will be okay. They were in jiffy bags too and bubble wrapped so fingers crossed.

The larger ones will be SMART capable I guess but I doubt the smaller ones are.
I did admit I was getting a little worried if they would turn up at all, I am quite paranoid these days about sending things abroad/non-tracked as they always seem to go missing.

Keep me posted (just not by airmail lol)

I tested them all with an usb adaptor.
All worked okay, except the Maxtor that automatically shut down my laptop. I need to further investigate why this happens.
Using the usb adaptor the 30gb didn't work, but when I used the ide port, it worked fine.

I did complain to the post office today. Even the bubble wrap was tear open inside.
Hopefully all the hd's seems to be fine as they were sealed in the jiffy bags.

Leaving feedback now.

Glad to hear it.

The Maxtor one spun up for me up overloaded the USB socket that I ran it on, to hazard a guess I bet it draws more than 500mA.

Glad they all seem to have got there okay in the end anyway.

Yes, the Maxtor needs too much power i guess.
And the 30gb worked only with the laptop internal ide power.

Feedback left.
