With Gideon's recent release of the Ultimate64 FPGA computer main board, it became quickly apparent that a set of 3D printed parts were needed to complete a quality installation of this board in a 64c Commodore case.

This set consists of four components.

1. Left keyboard bracket (redesigned to match the new right bracket) with installed heatset, screw and stainless steel washer
2. Right keyboard bracket (redesigned to allow keyboard connection to mainboard) with installed heatset, screw and stainless steel washer
3. Center PCB support bracket
4. Power connector/Power button plate
5. Small bag containing 5 washers used to fasten down the parts set (you supply the screws).

As you can see from the photos, I had to completely re-design the right keyboard bracket so as to accommodate the keyboard connector. Because of the minimal size of the board, I didn't want to apply any pressure on the PCB from a keyboard mount perspective, so I shifted it all to the left. Now the base of the case takes the load of the entire keyboard leaving the PCB to rest without any stress.

This installation set of parts is based on the Gideon Ultimate64 v1.2 mainboard, and is compatible with the 64c, kickstarter and post-kickstarter cases.

Each of the two keyboard brackets come complete and ready to use. Brass M3 heatsets are inserted into the plastic mounts into which the two black oxide M3 hex head screws thread into. Two stainless steel washers are also included, so you'll just put your brackets in, and secure the keyboard with the supplied screws.

Here you see a preliminary set I printed in yellow, so that it highlights all of the areas that receive 3D printed parts. Those being, the two keyboard brackets, the center board support and the power connector/button plate.

Here is the assembled machine (yellow brackets).

Here's some photos of the finished set in black (likely to be the most popular choice)...

Thanks for everyones purchases/payments. Reception of this kit has been phenomenal...

My 5 printers have been running the last 24 hours... Yikes.

Anyways, I'm planning on sending an update via e-mail to all those who bought off me so far. I'm close to having everyone's done who've paid so far... but want to ask for a bit of patience, as I'd like to delay shipment till mid week... and I'll tell you why...

I've developed TWO new options for this kit. The first is the Userport plate. This is a small frame that slides over the userport area of the board to clean up the look and make it look a bit more slick.

Tonight, I finished the last "option" for this kit, that being a new power plate and power/select button. Took a while to fine tune this to be a perfect fit on the Ultimate 64 button... but I did it.

Along with the Userport plate, I'm also going to include this alternate power plate and power button with everyone's order. Won't cost you a dime more. I want you guys to be able to taylor your installation to EXACTLY the way you want it to look and feel.

Just need a little more time to print off and add this to everyone's order.

Thanks for all of the positive response. feedback and purchases! (Amigo-Mexicano... I'll get to your PM right away).

I'm planning on starting to ship orders starting mid-week in the order they were received. Will advise each buyer as their package ships.

Now... I have ONE MORE thing to announce with regards to this kit.

As you all know, the kit now consists of the keyboard brackets, the board support, the Userport bracket and TWO options for the power plate/power button ( as well as a set of washers).

I've come up with one more option....

It occurred to me last night as I was shutting down for the evening that I could design an LED into the stand alone power button. So here is how it turned out...

Here is what the LED illuminated button looks like.

On the Ultimate 64 board, there are two LED positions available. One is for the power LED, and the other is for the Activity LED. It's really up to the owner how they configure their LEDs, but an option here now with this button is that you could connect the LED for the activity light to the power button... OR you could use the original power LED location on the case for activity, and route the power light to the button...

The LED button isn't going to be included in the regular price of the kits, it's going to be an option. Only have enough materials on hand right now to do about 40 buttons with wiring (have more parts on order now)... I'm going to charge an additional $5.00 USD for the illuminated button. If anyone who's ordered already wants the illuminated button (LED colors available are (red, green, blue, yellow and white), let me know.

For those that get the illuminated button, once you stick the cabled LED into the hole in the back of the button, you may want to put a small drop of crazy glue to keep it from popping out. I've made the LED reasonably snug so it should be ok without, but just mentioning it.
