i got me a Commodore 64c yesterday, evrything works fine besides i have verey weak sound on my tv, but i had got it tested on a older tv set where audio is fine, proberly my tv?, im useing the RF output on my tv.

any idea why?.

Have you tried manually fine tuning the channel? (Should be possible to do that somewhere in the TV's menus.)

There's a tiny black switch at the rear of the C64C - try flicking the switch the other way.

I had this issue and nearly deafened myself when I found that switch, I forgot I had cranked the TV volume up past 11!!

where is that switch placed exactly?, the only small black switch i see is the power switch on the machine, must have given you almost a hearth acttack. XP

It's located between the expansion port and the serial socket.

It's marked 'Channel Selector' in this picture.

It should slide sideways, meaning left to right. It looks like a black square.

Strange....

I think we need another Scandinavian member with a C64C, as TV standards varied across Europe. Mine definitely has a switch inside that square hole to the right of the expansion slot.

wierd,

Hi.
Nasty flash on this pic, but you can barely make out a blue sticker with "VDE" written on it.

This unit is not tested recently, but I have not had any problems with sound levels. Any ways: I'm just guessing that you can open up the modulator and try to tighten/loosen a few screws as on other modulators, to clear up picture/sound ?

Yes, you could try adjusting the trimmers in the modulator I suppose.

hmm, havent treid that yet, theres a buzzing noise when i turn volume higher.

The buzz noise (and noise, in general) is caused by the open audio in on all C64 models.

A simple cure is grounding the audio in, so electric/magnetic noise is not picked by the computer.
