I'm looking for a A1200 25-pin D-SUB SCSI Backplate for use with the Blizzard SCSI kit I'm in the process of buying.

the backplate is a piece of metal.

do you mean the scsi cable from the scsi card? as that can be made from scratch.(so can the backplate)
its simply a 26 pin idc connector wired to a 25 pin female d socket thats crimped shut on a ribbon cable.

@nicholas.jj.taylor

It's indeed relatively easy to craft the backplate and cable. Anyway if you don't like this approach and/or can't sort something out locally, drop me a reminder.
I have one as sold by Amigakit hidden somewhere, which I can probably part with.

That's the one. There's also the cable too, which I need too. Super! Thanks guys

I have these (the cable I also got from Amigakit but they are out stock it seems) and I still don't know how to connect a 50pin scsi harddrive to the 25pin female port which I have put on the back of A1200 (lost the screws and couldn't find two screws that would fit so it's just hanging there at the moment)

I managed to get some from amigakit.com. However, the back plate is quite corroded and if yours is shiny then I might consider it. Do you have a photo that you can post up here?

@ancalimon
If you don't want to do any soldering, your best bet is to install the hard drive into a simple SCSI case. Those typically provide 50-pin Centronics ports, so you'll need a readily available DB25 to 50pin Centronics SCSI cable.
For a DIY solution: DB25 SCSI (apple type) pinout and 50-pin IDC SCSI pinout (single-ended) is what you need.

If it's not corroded to the point that bits are starting to fall off, baptise it overnight in vinegar and it'll get much better.

I've had nothing but trouble from Amigakit over this order. I couldn't believe how badly I was treated. I wish I'd gone to Vesalia.

EDIT:

This thread can be closed. I managed to get it sorted in the end - no thanks to www.AmigaKit.com
