Ok, I opened up my A1200 Classic today, to replace my 3.0 roms with some other ones..

It freezes up when I play WHDload games, and when I reboot a nice read coloured screen appears.. so.. kickrom error..

after opening up I got a really strange sight..

wotta-guuh ?

can anyone explain why the wires are crossed ?
(btw.. the roms apparently works without problems, because the replacement roms does the same, I guess it might be a problem with the kick rom I'm using for the whdload games)

@Tomse

Surprisingly enough CBM actually sold A1200's with Kick Roms in that state.

I believe that it was a communication / schematic failure between CBM and MX whom programmed batches of ROMS that had MIXED address lines. although its quite likely CBM were offered these re-worked chips for cheap and they just ran with it.

The modification swaps Pin 33 [A15] with pin 38 [A10]
