So I have a A2000 with a gvp hc+8 card that has 8 1mb chips on it. Then I have a Harms Accelerator card with 4mb zip ram on it. Card has room for 8 more MB if zib ram that is empty. When I turn on the machine with just 4mb on the gvp board and 4mb on the accelerator board, it shows all the memory. If I fill up the gvp board with 8 mb and remote the accelerator, it shows all 8mb of memory but when I plug the accelerator back in and boot up the computer it then only shows 4mb of memory and then 10 minutes into doing anything the memory drops to 0 mb. I was told by someone that you can only have 8mb total.

Any thoughts out there??

Yeah, that's a limit in the of the address space, and it looks like both of these are trying to take same address space and you have a conflict. Looks like you're maxed out at 8MB fast. I know it's not what you have, but check out the manual for the Commodore A2630 accelerator. It's on the link below. Read pages 10 and 11 and you'll see it explained. Cheers.

Just going to add @Josh426, maybe check the manuals? Looks like you may need to configure the memory with some software. Check this page, which seems to have a manual (German, but could still be useful) and software. If this is not your accelerator perhaps it contains software that supports it, since it is the same manufacturer.
