I remember reading from somewhere that if you're oveclocking an A3640, that 33 MHz would be preferable. This had something to do with with frequency multipliers and timings.

I can't get my head around what it was about and can't find the reference either. My A3640 doesn't overclock to 33 MHz. It does to 32 but apparently 30 is a more realistic value. Does anyone remember something related to this?

forget about overclock , better for this card is 040-060 adapter with LC060 or full 060 with modify kickstart to "disable fpu "
when I got LC060 my A3640-60 work like a tank very fast system ,fps like breathless , doom work excellent , only some demos doesn't work because there is no FPU

Heh, I got all the bits and pieces to do the adapter and a 060 waiting. Haven't found time to do it yet.

My A3640 is OC ready as it has the necessary modifications and the crystal on socket. I'm just curious about the frequencies.

you may need to change the clk90 delay on the EP8700 delay line.. my A4000 with A3640 actually works at 74/37 MHz... 33MHz most likely won't work if any 80ns fastram simm is present....
