Hello,

I have with massive help from kavanoz put together a parts list (mostly Mouser) for the A4000T which might come in handy if you got the A4000T PCB from tbtorro recently and wants to order some components easely from (mostly) Mouser.

First of all the disclaimer: There might be errors or faults in the list, we have gone through it as good as possible, if you see any errors in the list feel free to send a message or post here and we will update it.

Here is a link to the A4000T BOM and parts list hosted on Google Drive

I added a "Checklist" sheet which shows each part (or some parts as a group like EC260A-H) in a separate row.
TotalQ column shows the total number of that part within that PCB
ItemQ column shows how many parts in that group. Individually listed parts will have 1 here.
I added "Done?" column for you to mark the parts you assembled, so you can keep track of which parts have been completed.

I just realized that BOM files don't say which side of the PCB the components are. I'll work on adding that information.

Edit: This will be much harder than I thought. A lot of components don't have labels on the silkscreen. Some of these are grouped components and in many cases members of the group are on the different sides of the PCB. Example:

I need to check the schematics and beep the traces to identify them. I have a populated board and can look at the resistor values, but capacitors don't have labels on them.

@tbtorro is there an ibom we could use that would help in placing components correctly and keeping track of placed components? Would be much apreciated (y) How did the previous batch builders build there cards, did they beep out the traces to identify them where needed? :)

this is amazing! thanks for that and @Rakeim132 for letting me know!

I was informed that the DB9 and DB25 ports on the ports module have extended backs to keep them further away from the PCB. I never removed mine from the case so I didn't know that was the case. This one should work for the serial port.

There is this one for the parallel, but it's not threaded for the hex screws

And this one has the hex parts extending beyond the pins. Some modification would be needed.

Same with these 9 pins

I'll keep looking.

EDIT: I found suitable parts in Mouser and updated in the sheet. They are expensive though, 23 USD for the parallel port! I will keep looking for cheaper parts.

I can't see the spreadsheet's revision history so it's hard to tell what's been updated, but it looks like the part currently listed is $1.82 (649-LD25S24A4GV00LF). Did you find a cheaper part or is this old data?

Yes, that was one of the 3 part numbers (4 parts in total). I updated CN150A, CN150B, CN160A and CN160B in the Ports PCB. I highlighted the information with green background.

As you may have noticed, there is a second sheet in the BOM called Checklist. As I had started building my first board, I was spending my time on that sheet. I realized, I made the updates for the DBxx ports on that sheet and not on the main one. I just updated main one as well.

Yep, when you mentioned they were highlighted in green I found them on the other tab. :) I ordered a set and installed them the other day.

AV module BOM specifies 2 x 200K resistors, but only lists one name, R400. The other one is R403. This has been added to both sheets of the BOM.

Power supply connectors P8/P9 original Molex part (15-48-0106) is not available. The replacement part listed in the BOM (36642-0001) needs modification. The pins in the original are about 7.5mm. The replacement part's pins are almost 9.5mm. I cut them to the correct length, otherwise it's not possible to insert the power supply connectors.

I finished my first set of boards. Other than a faulty video DAC and one resistor mistake, everything went well and it's fully functional now. (I'm missing 50 pin shrouded SCSI connector, it's on the way - tested SCSI from the external port).
I also used the ATX ports module for most of the testing as it's easier than messing with cables when the board is not installed in a case.

Does anyone know of a source for the earphone connector on the AV board (AVM-EARPHONE-J3P - Stereo, Trough-hole)? Looks like most out there have a different footprint.

does anyone know where to find the 54 Pin Edge connectors (CN453 and CN 454) ?

did anyone shared a Mouser or Digikey parts list (for all 4 PCBs or individual ones) ?
